Poor Russia

puckPoor Russia. They won a hard fought game against the Czech Republic yesterday to win their Group B and advance straight to the quarter-finals. Their reward? A probable quarter-final game against Canada.

I'll bet the last team Russia wanted to face in the quarters is Canada. Tomorrow night, we'll get another tune-up against Germany, another chance to warm up Roberto Luongo and reset our lines and focus.

Then, it's Canada vs. Russia for a chance to play in the semi-finals. That's going to be awesome.

Poor Russia.

I wish I still had as much faith in Canada as you do. I want to believe, but the future looks grim.

Gretzky said you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Clearly he wasn't talking about the Canadian 2010 team. It seems they miss 100% of the shots they do take.

This is the same garbage every Olympics from Team Canada, with the exception of Salt Lake City. Seventh place is the norm.

Wayne Gretzky doesn't even live in Canada and two decades are approaching since any Canadian team won the Stanley Cup. Our game is being taken away from us. It's being diluted with the NHL allowing fighting and believing that cities in the desert or in the southern U.S. are better places for professional ice hockey than cities like Winnipeg, Hamilton, or Quebec City.

We probably won at Salt Lake City because everyone felt at home, including Wayne Gretzky.

Becareful, its that overconfidence against Team USA that got Canada in the place they are in right now. Everyone thought Team USA wouldn't stand a chance, guess what...here we are 3-0, Russia is a good team, don't underestimate, besides, Jochen Hecht will Carry the Germans to a surprisingly good showing against Canada

Poor Russia? How about lucky U.S,? They're lucky they were playing Team Canada and not the Russians. The way the Yanks were playing last night, I think Ovechkin and friends would have done them in. Then again, Miller was hot, so who knows. Canada better get it together against the Germans or Russia won't have too much to fear.

Predict 5th-6th place finish overall. Beat Germany & then done like dinner.

They play as individuals & not as a team - best player so far for Cda. has been Drew Doughty.

Sorry but gut feel
