Accepting and Embracing the Grey

Published by Toronto Mike on December 30, 2008 @ 11:25 in Miscellaneous

thumbsupI started noticing grey hairs in my head when I was 21. By the time I was 30, I had a definite salt and pepper thing happening. I'm not one to dye my hair, so I let nature take its course and hoped for the best.

I'm now 34, and I fully accept and embrace my grey. I've got lots of grey on both sides and a nice patch of white in the top front. Heck, I even have grey in my beard now, and I dig it. I see it as natural highlighting, a feature that practically makes me seem mature and wise.

And besides, I've still got a full head of thick hair. That's the main thing...

I took this pic during an awesome walk through Etienne Brule Park yesterday.

Agreed. I'm 24, and my dad went grey around 30, so I guess it'll be happening to me soon enough. But I think it looks kind of distinguished. And I too am far more concerned about baldness than greyness!

Mr. Handsome? I guess that's better than Mr. Modest.

My hair's still nice and red, but I've started to notice a few white hairs slipping into my beard. Despite how much I enjoy being a redhead though, I don't see myself dying the hair if it goes grey. Just doesn't seem like something I'd go through the trouble for. :)

Maurice Richard - JUST A TOUCH OF GREY.
Be fortunate you still have a full head of hair.

It's not bad at all. I'm 32 and no grey in my hair but I have noticed 2 strands of grey in my beard. It's always those two. But I have a bald patch coming up at the top of my head and my forehead. The twain will eventually meet and I will rue the day.
