The Great Milk Switcheroo

foodI've always loved milk. It's pretty much been my drink of choice for as long as I can remember. Growing up, we always had plenty of 2% milk in the fridge, so as an adult I stuck with what I knew. Our house goes through 8 litres of milk a week.

This summer, my wife decided to pull the old milk switcheroo. Instead of my usual 2% milk, she brought home 1% milk. I poured myself a tall glass of this 1% stuff and gave it a go. I swear, I couldn't tell the difference.

Now we're going through 8 litres of 1% milk each week. And yes, we've had a little chat about skim milk and I've put my foot down. I can only hand a 1% reduction every 30 years or so.

We switched a few yeasr ago . I buy the true taste 1% and it's great. The wife drinks Almond and rice milk because some quack told her she was lactose intolerant.

On a side note I missed that we were out of milk last night. Raison Bran sucks dry!

We switched to 1% as well, and it's been a great change I think. Think about it: If you drink as much milk as we do, you've cut your fat intake from this produce in HALF!

Skim milk is white water. Don't do it!

If you are interested, trying mixing skim and 1% together slowly, increasing the ratio of skim each time (weekly, monthly, whatever). Or even just drink .5% as an equal mix of both if that is all you can take. My grandparents did this for years.

I was raised only on skim and I get completely grossed out by any other milk than that because of the texture.
