My Dragon Boat Test Paddle

Published by Toronto Mike on September 16, 2008 @ 21:13 in Miscellaneous

waterI've been invited to try out for a dragon boat team. Tonight I made my way to Port Credit in Mississauga for a one hour test paddle. If you don't know what dragon boating is, here's the Wiki page that explains this popular sport.

It might be popular, but it was new to me. I had never been a part of a dragon boat crew which is why I was so interested it giving it a whirl tonight. I've always wanted to be involved in a water sport but just never had the chance.

Ya know, it's not as easy as it looks. An hour was about all I could take tonight. I won't know until March if I'm on the team, but I hope I am. It was a lot of fun, it was beautiful on the Credit River and the upper body work can only help my power hitting at the plate.

Reach and catch... reach and catch. And take your boating exam with BoaterExam.com, a supporter of this blog.
