Too Little, Too Late

Our damn Leafs swept Philly. The jerks are doing it again. We're only five points out of the playoffs, but it's too little, too late, dammit!

It's too bad, because I've been enjoying this little resurgence. This team is practically likable again, with amazing goaltending and a never-say-die swagger. Even with Sundin out, they found a way to stay alive. But it's too little, too late, dammit!

It's not my favourite Barenaked Ladies period, but the sentiment is right. Here's Toronto's BNL and "Too Little Too Late", dammit!

Yeah well they caught the Sabres Mike. I just posted my last Sabres post unless they make the playoffs.

Not according to my math. I've got the Leafs at 74 points after 72 games played. The Sabres have 75 points in 71 games.

You've got the point on us and a game in hand, and that's our problem. Even if the Flyers somehow collapse and we can make up the five points (Flyers have a game in hand, too), are we going to leapfrog the Sabres and Capitals (who also have a game in hand)?

And, even if the Flyers tank and the Sabres and Capitals don't beat us to the punch, we're only tied with the Panthers.

Needless to say, I'll be rooting against the Bruins, Flyers, Sabres, Capitals and Panthers like a mofo. Why? Because I'm a total and complete sucker.

I’ve said it all season – if the Leafs got reliable consistent goaltending they would make the playoffs. If Toskala continues to play well, we will be there. Boston, Philly and Buffalo are falling quickly.
