Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3

Leafs It's much too late, but this was my favourite Leafs game of the season. It was guaranteed win night and we were down 3-0. Then, in the third period, we started to play inspired hockey. I haven't enjoyed a period of Leafs hockey like this in quite some time. With Tosky on the bench, we almost pulled it out in regulation.

Tonight we're in Philly, and I'm prepared for the let down. I've had my joy for the week.

I hear ya Mike. To sort of link this with your ‘things I don’t get’ bit – why the hell is Alexi Pony out there when we have to score??? This guy is a hard working third liner but that’s all!

That, and he can peg a goalie in the hands from 4 feet when the goalie is lying in a prone position on the ice.

Damn, that freakin' close! Props to Maurice for going for it and pulling the goalie on the PP. I think the ACC may have exploded if that would have worked.

Even with a 1% chance, he had to go for it. I too applaud the pulling of Toskala. There was nothing to lose.

Even if they don’t make the playoffs I still believe their effort is worthwhile. A few moths ago I had basically given up watching the Leafs. It wasn’t any fun to watch them lose especially when they out played the opposition only to have their goalie let in 4 goals on 20 shots. But thankfully Toskala has improved and Raycroft has planted himself on the bench and as a result the Leafs are winning.
