Rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic

Now that I've had a little time to reflect upon the big news from MLSE yesterday, I'm ready to share my thoughts on the subject.
John Ferguson, Jr. might be a really swell guy, but he wasn't a particularly good General Manager. I never felt comfortable about our direction with him at the helm. There were some bad trades and poor signings, but he shouldn't have been hired for this job in the first place. I'm glad he's gone.
Uncle Cliffy has loads of experience and should have the smarts to do what needs to be done, but I don't believe he's the answer either. There is no answer so long as Richard Peddie is still part of the hockey administrative process. Read Howard Berger's take on that for more of how I feel about Richard Peddie.
I realize I'm beating a dead horse here, but I won't start to believe again until Peddie is out of the hockey mix. Here are six related entries you might want to revisit.

You should check out Howard's latest post. I'll admit I didn't watch Peddie that closely during the introduction, but you better believe I'm going to check that out right now.
