Maple Leafs 3, Bruins 2

LeafsIt would have been easier for all of us if this team had just stayed down. Perhaps there's still a little pride running through those veins, and now they've gone and won two in a row. It puts me in a tricky spot.

I'm trying to root against them, because I believe it's best for our long term health, but last night before the shootout, there was no doubt who I was rooting for. I yelped, I cheered, I practically cried tears of joy. It was a thing of beauty and now our beloved Leafs are back in the hunt. Peddie, JFJ, Maurice, they can all keep their jobs. We've won two in a row.

Saturday: Ice cold Buffalo
Sunday: New Jersey
Wednesday: Washington
Thursday: Washington
*All Star Break*

Washington's been looking pretty good recently, especially against the better Ontario team (7-1 win over Toronto in October too). Buffalo is cold and Jersey is Jersey, so could be a bad week going into the break after Buffalo.

To sum up my feelings in a word, bewildered.

I kept waiting for them to collapse, like they always do. I thought nullifying half of that 4 minute PP might have done it, but no. Then came the shootout, and I figured that was all she wrote then (especially with shootout saviour Scott Clemmensen back with the Marlies), but somehow they managed to eke out a victory.

I'm still waiting for the axe to fall on somebody, though.

The Toronto Leafs team name should be changed to the Toronto Tampons as they are only good for one period, and they don't have a second string.
