Shutting it Down

Published December 1, 2007 @ 11:26 in Running

runningI saw a doctor yesterday about my right leg. I had to get a flu shot anyway, so I decided to kill the two birds with one stone.

The doctor doesn't think I'm suffering from anything more than a muscle strain. She prescribed me anti-inflammatory drugs and told me to shut it down for a couple of weeks. Then, if I still can't run without pain, we'll try physiotherapy.

I suppose if I have to take a break from running, this is the time to do it. Forecastfox tells me it's -12° right now.

I was about to ask if you'd seen a doc yet. That diagnosis sounds too easy. How does the leg feel lately?

Is it feeling any better with rest?

The leg feels good when I don't run. No pain in normal day to day life.

I described the symptoms in detail and the doc asked questions and examined my leg and told me to take these pills for two weeks and rest. Then, if it's not 100%, I'll go back to her to plan the next move.
