The Premature Death of John From Cincinnati

tvApparently, I was the only one watching John From Cincinnati. I knew early on the ratings were poor, so I was prepared for what happened this week. HBO has cancelled John From Cincinnati.

Without a doubt, it was out there. Some weeks I didn't know what the hell was going on, but I knew I liked it. I haven't seen the final episode yet, but I'm certain it won't explain everything so I'm destined to live out life never knowing what was up with John.

I still think he was Jesus Christ.

There was a show on a couple of years ago called Reunion. I loved it. It was supposed to chronical a bunch of high school friends though to their reunion where someone gets killed.

Seems that, like you, I was the only person watching the show so it was canceled. I never knew who did it.

I hate when shows stop without finishing the story...

Well, the critics sure didn't seem to get it--kept comparing it unfavorably to Deadwood by the same writer (which I never saw)--and I didn't either, which for some reason made me love John from Cincinnati al the more. And then finding out that was Joe Strummer on the theme song(with energetic support by the Mescaleros) at the top of his form after all these years...well, for me it makes the demise of a mesmerizing show and a great songwriter doubly poignant.
