Watching a Show Die
Published by Toronto Mike on June 1, 2007 @ 14:40 in Television
The last couple of Thursday nights I've watched Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. NBC is burning off the final episodes of this cancelled show. I'm still watching, but I've been watching since the beginning.
Part of Studio 60's problem, other than that name I can never remember, is that it's overly dramatic to a point where everything seems so contrived. I now watch to joke with T about how overblown everything is. Suddenly, dude's on drugs, baby isn't kicking, ratings are falling, someone is suing someone or other and dude's brother is a hostage in Iraq.
I liked that pilot episode. I think I'm watching today because of that pilot episode. Watch this opening scene and you'll see what hooked me.

Wowza.....that was a great opening? Why did I never watch it? Did it complete the season before being cancelled?
