Somebody Wants McCabe!

leafs I subscribe to a Toronto Maple Leafs news feed from Yahoo!, and this morning's headline instantly grabbed my attention. "Redden, McCabe could be available".

Toronto Maple Leafs rearguard Bryan McCabe still has four years left on his deal, but the New York Islanders might make a pitch for him if they are unable to resign Ryan Smyth or Jason Blake.

If the New York Islanders are willing to take this massive, cumbersome contract off our hands, MSLE shouldn't hesitate for one second. I want to like Bryan McCabe, but he's a defensive liability on a team that needs to be very strong in front of a mediocre goaltender. I figured McCabe's contract would be impossible to unload, but maybe not...

Hope springs eternal in the human breast.

Might just be easier to keep Caber and get more than mediocre goaltending. I want to like Rayzor, I do, but getting pulled in the do or die last game of the season was telling, I think. Someone put out an APB on Daren Puppa stat!
