Shows I Watched: Growing Pains

tvFor no other reason other than I feel like it, I'm going to start sharing the opening theme songs from shows I used to watch. This will likely be a little heavy on nostalgia and therefore full of 80s sitcoms.

We'll start with Growing Pains, a show I used to watch. It starred Canadian Alan Thicke and Jesus freak Kirk Cameron. It's still one helluva good theme song.

I loved the Seaver family. Don't forget this is where Leonardo DiCaprio made his debut as well...although I was not fond of his character or maybe I was beginning to dislike the show by the time he came along.

I loved this show - Tuesday night's, wasn't it? Who's the Boss, Growing Pains, Moonlighting and thirtysomething. I always liked how there would inevitably be some comment about being stuck before Moonlighting..

This was also the show where Matthew Perry was Carol's girlfriend who died in a car accident (he'd been drinking). I rmeember being completely and utterly stunned when they said he had died.

Yep, Perry played Sandy. That was an episode for the ages...

I liked Dicaprio on this show. It always made me laugh the way Ben would call Leo from the bottom of the stairs "Luke!". Just the way he did it was funny.
