Effect and Cause vs. Summertime Blues

MusicI've been enjoying the new White Stripes album all morning. It's better with every spin, full of different sounds and that awesome blues influence we've come to expect from White Stripes albums.

There's a catchy little track on the album called "Effect and Cause", and every time I hear it I hear "Summertime Blues" from Eddie Cochran. Jack White is so prolific, he's excused for borrowing a riff here and there.

"Borrowing" riffs and/or "sampling" is about all that there is left to do in the realm of rock.

There are so many "mash-ups" that indicate how many songs are alike.
