More Popular Than You Would Believe

When this blog was fairly young and only visited by a few dozen people, many of my visitors dropped by because of this entry about the Star Wars kid.
His name is Ghyslain Raza and he was fifteen at the time he made a video of himself imitating the combat style of Jedi knights with a golf-ball retriever. Classmates stole the video, put it online and the rest is history. It was totally viral and far more popular than you would imagine.
A marketing firm just called it the most downloaded video of all time. They estimate it's been viewed 900 million times.
He's eighteen now and keeping a low profile. As I wrote back in 2003, he'd be wise to embrace this notoriety. 900 million is an awfully big number.
