Best Hip Single Since Bobcaygeon?

Published by Toronto Mike on September 29, 2006 @ 16:03 in The Tragically Hip

tragicallyhip"In View", the latest single from The Tragically Hip from their upcoming release World Container, has been available for a month now. I've heard it dozens of times and I've had discussions about it with other Hip fans. We've reached a consensus. It's good!

It's damn catchy and bounces around in your head throughout the day. It's a fantastic single that can be thoroughly appreciated by the non-Hip fan as well. Dare I say this is the best Hip single since "Bobcaygeon". I'm not saying it's necessarily a better song than "It’s A Good Life If You Don’t Weaken", I'm just guessing there's hasn't been as much mass appeal for a Hip song since "Bobcaygeon".

Feel free to disagree. I'm going back to my rendition of "In View". "I've been meaning to call you..."

I usually don't disagree with you on music, but "In View" is probably the worst Hip song ever, by far. I would even deem it to be a "channel changer" since I'll switch stations if I hear it.

I've never been what you would call a Hip fan but I have to say In View has got me for sure. I catch myself humming that tune all day. Great tune!

Ok, it's catchy, but there's 10 songs on World Container that i like better than In View.. Can imagine that for the non-hipfan this song is something that could make you listen to the hip, it's so poppy.. not like something they've ever done before. No, give me Nautical Disaster, Meridian, Good Life, Mean Streak, So hard done by, Little bones or Luv(sic) and i'm much more happy.
The new album is terrific though, i'm addicted to it!
