I'm still trying to hunt down a good MP3 of Gord Downie's "Hallelujah", but there is another song on my hit list. I'd absolutely love a digital version of our old Blue Jays song "Ok Blue Jays Let's Play Ball".
I have such fantastic memories of that stupid song. I used one horrendous line as my quote of the week back in September 2004. I attended many games at Exhibition Stadium and we'd always sing our song. I believe they still sing a small part of the song during the seventh inning stretch (I'll confirm this next month), but I don't think the full version has been sung in years. I miss it.
If you can help me secure this important part of my childhood and early Blue Jays history, wonderful karma will be yours to wallow in for all eternity.
I can confirm that they still play the song for the seventh inning stretch, or at least they did 3 weeks ago (give or take). In fact as far as I can tell all they've done over the years is add a slight electronic beat to it. Still the same old guy singing it, same old lyrics, same pre-recorded crowd singing along. :)
