Maple Leafs 4, Sabres 3

This was a really exciting game. We jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first thanks to a brilliant short handed goal by Alexei Ponikarovsky and rare even strength goal by Bryan McCabe before getting caught and blowing a 3-2 lead in the third. This set up an exceptional overtime with loads of action and our best shootout effort ever.
Prior to last night, the only Maple Leaf to score a shootout goal was Eric Lindros, and he's still out with a torn wrist ligament. Mats Sundin started things off last night with a brilliant shot that beat Martin Biron and Ponikarovsky followed that up with a wicked deke to clinch the victory. Eddie Belfour did his part stopping both Ales Kotalik and Thomas Vanek. We're 13-0-1 this season when leading after two and we've now won four in a row, all by a single goal.
