A Movie ReelThe Quiet American: 7 out of 10.

"The Quiet American" is an interesting history lesson told through a good ol' fashioned love triangle. It's the end of the French War in Indochina in 1952 and we have three central characters, one representing America, one representing Britain and one representing Vietnam. It's great stuff and well told.

Michael Caine is superb in the lead role and his performance ties the whole thing together nicely. You may recall he was nominated for an Oscar but lost out to Adrien Brody.
