Re: Terri Schiavo
I agree that this woman should have a right to die, however, I disagree in the manner in which is it being done. She shouldn't have to starve and dehydrate to death. There must be a more humane way of letting her die.  Just because a human being is in a vegetative state, does it mean that she won't suffer the pain of starvation and dehydration?

I have two words for you CT, Robert Latimer.  Latimer loved his daughter and could not bear to watch her suffer from a severe form of cerebral palsy so he killed her.  He was convicted of second-degree murder.

The courts don't necessarily rule by the spirit of a law, but by the letter of the law.  Euthanasia is still illegal in America as it is here and not keeping Terri alive by artificial means is the only legal way to allow her to die.  There is another line in the living will that I believe would be applied to Terri.  It reads, "I ask that medication be mercifully administered to me to alleviate suffering even though this may shorten my remaining life".  As awful as the idea of starvation and dehydration is I'm sure they won't let her suffer.  It's sad that this is the only way to legally allow her to die.
