US conservative groups are funny. They're always good for a chuckle on a cold Thursday morning.
Their latest target is SpongeBob Squarepants who they claim is corrupting our youth. SpongeBob Squarepants, you see, occasionally holds hands with his male friend Patrick, a definite no-no in conservative circles. Now they're appearing in a video intended to help teach children the values of co-operation and unity. "We see the video as an insidious means by which the organization is manipulating and potentially brainwashing kids," Paul Batura, a spokesman for Focus on the Family, told the New York Times.
Lock up your kids! SpongeBob Squarepants is promoting co-operation and unity! Heaven forbid.
