My Most Listened To CDs

Fave CDs

I'm listening to Alice in Chains' Dirt while sitting at my pc awaiting the start of the Raptors game.  I listen to the 13 tracks on this album rather frequently.  In fact, I find myself returning to the same few albums over and over and over again.

Not counting albums from my ten favourite bands, here are the four CDs I most often listen to.

System of a Down - Toxicity: A friend of mine introduced me to this band and I'm forever grateful.  Every cut on this disc accelerates my heart rate.  Much like the next album on this list, it's loud and proud and not afraid to say something.  "Chop Suey" is one of my favourite tunes of all time but I'm pretty nuts about all 14 cuts.

Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine: If you visit HyperLists to check out my ten favourite bands, you'll also see a list of my five favourite albums of all time.  Rage Against the Machine is on that list.  It's absolutely solid and fully loaded with moshing anthems.  It's very heavy and very political and very addictive.  "Killing in the Name" and "Bullet in the Head" are still my favourite tracks, but "Wake Up" and "Freedom" are hot on their tail.

Sublime - Sublime: Every ounce of this album is a trippy blend of rock, hip-hop, folk and funk.  "What I Got" and "Santeria" may be the best tunes, but I'm as happy as sh*t getting lost in "Wrong Way", "April 29 1992" or "Pawn Shop".  Lead vocalist and guitarist Bradley Nowell died of a heroin overdose at the age of 28 but what he left behind was all good.

The Beastie Boys - Check Your Head: This whole damn album is awesome.  From the opening chords of "Jimmy James" through classics like "Pass the Mic" and "So What'cha Want" to the funkified "Professor Booty".  A hidden gem is the hard n' heavy "Time For Livin".
