Maple Leafs 2, Senators 1

Go Leafs Go!

Food tastes better, music sounds better and everything appears that much brighter today.  The Leafs have won four in a row after defeating our provincial rivals from Ottawa last night.

I fittingly watched this game from Joe Nieuwendyk's hometown of Whitby, Ontario to witness his return after playing only one of the previous 12 games.  He looked good and provided a perfect screen on Bryan McCabe's winning goal late in the second period.

Despite dominating against the Senators in the playoffs, the Leafs haven't fared well against them in the regular season.  In fact, prior to last night the Leafs had only won once in eight trips to the Corel Centre and only three times in their last 16 regular season matchups overall.  The Sens are seriously underperforming and are being toasted by the local media and fans.  Prior to this four game winning streak, the Leafs were experiencing the exact same thing.  Don't look now, but the Leafs are tied for the point lead in the Northeast division while the Senators dwell in the cellar.  I love it!
