Mike Kic Goes Bananas

DodgeballI've been playing ball with Mike Kic for years. He's one of our three Mikes, and all three can lose their cool on the field now and then. When competitive people engage in a heated battle, fuses shorten and tempers flare. The challenge is to ensure the line is never crossed so you can stay in the game.

Kic is also on my dodgeball team. Last night, about half way through our tense match-up with Where's Linda?, Kic crossed the line. Already eliminated, he picked up the ball and drilled it at the guy who just knocked him out. It was then that Where's Linda? left the court and we were disqualified. We're awaiting judgment from the TCSSC as to our fate, but Kic has already launched a preemptive strike. He's quit.

Hey Team,

Sorry about my stupid behaviour at tonight's game, that was ******* of me to do. I completely ruined the game for everyone and I apologize for my actions. I think it's best that I leave the competitive game of dodgeball so that this doesn't happen in future games for you guys.

Good luck the rest of the season, I know you guys will have more fun without my antics.

I hear you giggling at the "competitive game of dodgeball" line, but when you're out on that court, it's war. The beast within you is unleashed and you enter full combat mode. We trained Mike Kic to be a killing machine and then we chastised him for ignoring the boundaries.

Speaking of Mike Kic, he recently appeared in a Future Shop ad. Here he is going bananas about NBA07 on the PSP.

Mike Kic Reports from Guatemala

It's been a while. Well, we have completed another country on our Central American tour, tomorrow we dip into Belize. I have quite enjoyed our little stay in Guatemala, actually I really like the Mayan Ruins in Tikal the best. The Mayan people were quite an incredible people and now Mr. Gibson will tell you all about them.

We are looking forward to Belize, because it's like little Jamaica. After that we will hit Mexico before coming home, the tour is almost up... I better stop waisting my time on you Boon!

Cool Kic, here's your update. The Leafs are up 1-0 on Ottawa but Tampa Bay is leading Carolina by that same score. Unfortunately, Atlanta has already won today. Our chance of making the playoffs is currently steady at 12.342%.

Mike Kic Reports from Costa Rica

Mr. Boon,

I know it has been a while but, since we last left you guys we were in Panama. Well, now we are in Costa Rica and doing a heck of alot of beaching. I can honestly say that the beach life can get quite boring sometimes.... I know I shouldn't complain. Costa Rica is far too expensive and too touristy. We have only been here for about a week but by comparing it to Panama... .well, I prefer Panama. It has the same amazing beaches, less tourists and it is cheaper. We will be here for the next week before heading out to Nicaragua.

Lots of love, hope all is well in the T-dot.

Mike and Jordy are exploring Central America and first checked in with this guest blog. Apparently, Panama is more than just a good Van Halen song.

There isn't a lot of beach life here right now, but we did reach double digits in temp today and it was awesome. If you're curious, the Leafs lead Tampa Bay late in the second but Montreal leads the Rangers as well. We expect you or Jordy to check in some time next week.

I'm glad that I'm the first to write in the guest blog since Jordy missed out. Things here are excellent in Panama, the weather is amazing. I still can't believe I'm suntanning in February.... but hey I'm not trying to rub it in... ha ha ha! Right now we are staying in a small town called El Valle which is close to the mountains so the air here is rather cool, which is a lot different from Panama City. It's nice to get out of the big city (Panama City) and venture into these small towns. The people here are incredible everyone really wants to help the travellers out, and there are quite a bit of tourists in this town. We plan on doing more beaching and suntanning, and trying not to get burnt this time. Hope all is well in Canada, I see the Leafs still suck... oh well there's always next year. Go Jays Go! (I never thought I'd say that and actually think they had a chance.)

Later Booner,

      Mike Kic

Mike and Jordy are on a fifteen week adventure through Central America and they'll be checking in periodically to let us know how it's going. My personal email from Jordy told of a mishap where her passport was accidentally left behind in Paris. Upon further investigation I learned she was referring to Paris, Ontario and not Paris, France. The omission of this necessary clarification speaks volumes.

Remind me to share stories of my crazy and wonderful visit to London.

Mike Kic Reports from Poland

Ink StainAnyone is welcome to submit a Guest Blog Entry to TorontoMike.com. I received the following submission earlier today.

Just wanted to let you know how things in Poland are going. The tour itself was amazing we visited the richest churches, and the homes of many kings. The tour was especially informative when we went to the former concentration camp in Auschwitz, that was the hardest day but I'm glad I saw it with my own eyes. We spent the last few days on a farm visiting family friends and boy, do we ever have it good in Toronto. Right now I'm in Krakow which use to be the former capital of Poland. We're leaving for Warsaw on Friday and it's back to Toronto on Saturday night...can't wait to play baseball again. Go Storm Go!

The tour of Auschwitz must have been intense. We must remember, that it may never happen again.

Mike Kic Reports from Warsaw

Ink StainAnyone is welcome to submit a Guest Blog Entry to TorontoMike.com. I received the following submission a couple of days ago.

Well it looks like Poland has advanced technologically since I was last here 12 years ago. We finally arrived in Warsaw and well it's weird to see how 'North Americanized' this city really is. Full of billboard ads for Coke, Ricoh, LG and others I just don't remember it like this when I was younger. The airline decided to lose my bro's and my dad's luggage yesterday and while they waited in the airport for over 4 hours to see if would come, it finally arrived this morning at our hotel. I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Raging Storm team good luck on Mon on their double header, as I am signing off from Warsaw.

Later everyone.

      Mike Kic

Last time we heard from Mike Kic, he was in Ecuador and now our globe trotting friend is writing us from Warsaw, Poland. You'll be happy to know we swept the double header last night, preserving a one run lead in game two even though the opposition loaded the bases in the last inning. I love winning the close ones. Enjoy Poland.

Mike Kic Reports from Ecuador

Hey Booner,

Just to let you know that we are well in Ecuador. We are currently in a city called Otavalo where they have a huge market each Saturday and the items they sell are incredible. The comparison of Charlie Rich and Pat Quinn is rather close but I still feel that Mr. Quinn resembles my doctor, Dr. Stachula, I just wish I had a picture for you to compare.

     Mike Kic

You've got to snap a pic of the good doctor to send to me. We'll have our own little Pat Quinn look-alike contest. I'm sure it will be very popular.

Mike Kic's Testimonial

Guest Blog SubmissionAnyone is welcome to submit a Guest Blog Entry to torontomike.com. I received the following submission earlier today.

Mr. Boon,

Not only are you a valued asset to your community, you are also close to my heart. Our love is unconditional and I surely hope that it stays that way. Keep up the good work on your website, other than hotmail.com it is the only site I check while I stay here in Ecuador for two weeks. Hasta luego!

     Mike Kic

Mike Kic is a member of Raging Storm and batted .541 while driving in 35 runs this season. Any love he feels for me is strictly platonic, I assure you. He is in Ecuador though so he's not completely full of it.

Hey Mike! Kick Hotmail to the curb and give Gmail a spin. If you want an invite, it's yours.
