My Link of the Day

Mike's Link of the DayTVO KIds Shows - When I was Googling away to learn more about Jeremy I came across this great tribute to TVOntario kids shows of the 1970s. I remember so many of these, particularly "Fables of the Green Forest", "Readalong", "Barbapapa" and "Read All About It".

Mike's Link of the DayJust Cover Video - Ths is a video for a cover of Radiohead's "Just." "For his cover Mark Ronson not only enlisted the help of the formidable Daptones horn section (The Dap Kings) but Alex Greenwald, the lead singer of Phantom Planet." You might want to cut out the middle man and go straght to the high speed Quicktime version.

LinkGuided by (Many, Many) Voices - This is a way cool article from The New York Times Magazine by Alissa Quart. It's about BSS and the T.Dot and contains such killer quotes as "Musically, you could say that Toronto has become a nicer but less aesthetically coherent version of Seattle in the early days of grunge" and "Toronto's alternative-rock scene is a place where the sweetly familial and weirdly collective rub up against the traditional markers of stardom".

Link Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy Leaks - Former Gunner Axl Rose has been teasing us with Chinese Democracy for about a billion years now, but apparently it's actually getting released this summer. I'll believe it when I hear it. Actually, there are a few leaked tracks available from this link! I just gave them a spin and they aren't terrible. I'm rooting for the dude who helped give me Appetite for Destruction and wore the coolest jersey in L.A.

Link#1 Song on This Date in History - What was the #1 song in the USA on the day you were born? For me, it was "Sundown" by Gordon Lightfoot. A rare Cancon numero uno... how appropriate.
