How to Register For a Commenter Account

Comments on Toronto Mike are now being handled by Disqus. Some will prefer this, others will miss the old Movable Type comment system, just trust me that this switch was necessary. The new CMS doesn't have commenting built-in, so a third party system was required.

I'm hoping everyone will continue to comment here, because I thoroughly enjoy the engagement. I love the feedback on the podcast episode posts and Open Mikes. But if you don't want your comments moderated, you're going to need to take a few seconds to register for a commenter account in Disqus.

Registering for a commenter account can be beneficial for several reasons. Some of which include tracking comments through a dashboard, managing account notifications, and following other user accounts.

Register for a commenter account using one of the following methods:

Their sign-up page:

Through the embed:

After registering through the embed, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link. Click the link to confirm that an account for your email address wasn't created by mistake.

If you delete the confirmation email by accident, you can still log into your account using your email address after requesting a password recovery email.

Note that usernames are only for login and moderation purposes, and you have the option to display a different name with your comments after you have finished registering.

If you have any question whatsoever registering with Disqus, let me know! I've enabled "guest comments", but they're moderated by default.
