Mimico Mountaineers vs. St. Michael's College Kerry Blues

In my hood, many kids grow up playing lacrosse. It's not uncommon to spot automobiles sporting a Mimico Mountaineers bumper sticker.

Forever I've seen the St. Michael's College Kerry Blues logo. I just assume these cars belong to the proud parent of a St. Mike's student athlete.

Only recently did I realize how similar these two logos are, and that I often don't really know which one I'm seeing. Here's a quick comparison.

The pointy dip in the middle of the St. Michael's logo "M" vs. the flat dip in the middle of the Mimico logo "M" is a fairly big distinction.

Only takes a few seconds to tell them apart.

Major distinction, and everyone knows which is which.

Haha, I like the re-branding there.

I am on the New Toronto Mountaineers train even though Mimico Mountaineers has the alliteration that most sports names tend to have.

New Toronto sounds cooler.

The sad truth is that we New Toronto enthusiasts must venture to Mimico to get our lacrosse fix.

Ryan G

Fun fact: Ryan G played a 1/2 dozen games with the St Mike's Jr B Buzzers squad many, many moons ago since his MTHL (now GTHL) team was affiliated with them and was "called up" temporarily. Ryan G was 19, and the 17 year old regulars were, let's say, significantly more skilled, which explains why Ryan G only played 1/2 dozen games with the team..
