Lyle Lanley

Great TMI today. I've actually enjoyed all three episode so far. Keep it up!

February 16, 2018 @ 8:47 AM

I'm first. This is wonderful to be first. Well, my Habs lost, but they lost to my Coyotes. My Coyotes are hot now. This is great. I don't know why Carey Price is allowing so many goals, but they were Coyotes goals. No basketball until Thursday. It's all star break. Spring training started in baseball. My Indians, Orioles, and Diamondbacks will all win their divisions.

It's under review. Please stand by...

It's been determined Lyle Lanley is actually first. Cheryl gets the silver medal.

Shameless self promotion:

Today's TMI is barely 3 minutes long and contains a TMI exclusive. I strongly urge everyone to subscribe. You'll get 3 minutes of me every morning telling you 5 things I think you should know. And there's always a relevant song playing in the background. Have fun guessing why I chose that song!

This new battle for First Supremacy in the Open Mikes section has definitely creeped
up to the top of the leader board of things that continuously pique my interest on Toronto
Mike!! Perhaps one or both of you can reach out to this year's Olympic judges (once the games
officially end) and they can weigh in with the absolute decision(s) from that point on?!? Although
I know that there is at least one other commenter who dislikes this particular thread, please
kindly do ignore them and proudly carry on! Thanks!

The next three Toronto Mike'd guests are:

Alan Cross
Steve Anthony
Darren Dreger

I am now accepting questions for any of these gents.

February 16, 2018 @ 9:55 AM

I hope that in complete faith you will get a full run-down on that whole Steve Anthony-Mitsou
sleepover first name-checked by John Gallagher in his second appearance? (although I'm sure
that Mr. Anthony is a true gentleman who never kisses and tells, unlike his former roommate!!
Also, when is Alan Cross scheduled to appear as I'm looking forward to that episode?

Alan Cross is this coming Wednesday.

Of course I'll ask Steve Anthony about Mitsou.

I like to keep it light and loose for the most part here and follow Mikes instruction's "Feel free to use this space to vent, rant,"

Whether someone likes or dislikes what I post IDNGAF... :) But I would assume most people realise that by now.

I mostly enjoy busting Mike's ball's for my personal amusement, and trying to convince Cheryl she should switch to a better NHL team to cheer for...

Happy Friday.

the flu/cold thing that going around has effected everybody in my immediate family this week and quite a few friends. The office is 3/4's empty too. I seem to have escaped the worst only getting a sore throat / stuffy nose. everybody else have had fevers and much worse . lucky me. maybe i'll get a lottery ticket.

BTW the best motorcycle show of the year is on this weekend at the CNE enercare centre all the new for 2018 bikes and some venders and special exhibits.

Proud Dad moment.

My oldest daughter was accepted to University of Toronto last night for Criminology :)

She's was also accepted to Carleton and University of Ottawa and has accepted at U of O with a french scholarship.

Still nice to know she made the cut though :)

After hearing some of the more famous U of T alumni went on to a lucrative career in pod casting I'm looking forward to her attending Ottawa.

Although I did try to convince her to switch because Toronto has a better hockey team to cheer for :)

Or friend Irv (or WCI as he is known now) wanted a polygraph...he got one and Brown exceeded the standards set out by the FBI and RCMP

I'm hoping the media go after his accusers with as much venom as they did Mr. Brown himself.

February 16, 2018 @ 12:14 PM

That Patrick Brown thing what a damn mess.

TGIF and I GOT BRUNO MARS TICKETS BABYYYYYY - I am up to 4 concerts this year. Elton, Sam Smith, Chromeo and Bruno Mars :D :D :D

February 16, 2018 @ 12:21 PM

Guys guys it's okay, Patrick Brown is only trying to sleep with of-age intoxicated women who can't give consent. All is forgiven.

Fuck off Philly-Bob.

Happy Friday and Happy long weekend, everybody.

First again?! I can't believe it. I'm getting good at this. Goody Goody Gumballs.

Congrats to your daughter!

February 16, 2018 @ 12:31 PM

February 16, 2018 @ 12:34 PM

@markosaar - same to you and twice as much....

Ghomeshi had a domination fetish (not my cup of tea, but not illegal) and explored it with consenting adults who continued to reach out to him after the "assaults" took place. One of his accusers went into graphic detail describing what she wanted him to do to her, again after the supposed assaults took place.

Brown claims both stories are complete fabrications and has witnesses to back him up.

If someone commits a sexual crime, lock them up and throw away the key, but it seems to me that Brown was the victim of a smear campaign and his carrier has been ruined as a result. If he ends up being proven guilty...he deserves whatever happens to him. But, if these women are lying, there should be a price to pay for ruining someone's life.

But hey..."Fuck off Philly-Bob" is a completely valid response to someone who doesn't see things the same way you do, so well done!

February 16, 2018 @ 12:41 PM

*career not carrier...stupid auto correct

February 16, 2018 @ 12:42 PM

I agree with markosaar. Fuck off, Philly-Bob. You are part of the problem.

Make as many excuses as you want for him. There is a reason everyone split on him the moment it all came out. He's a predator and it's been rumoured (and known) for years. Just like Weinstein, O'Reilly, Murdoch, Spacey, Lauer and the others. It's people like you that will take any excuse from a dude and just go after the women.

February 16, 2018 @ 1:30 PM

Hamish Grant

Can you ask Steve Anthony if he had some kind of minor nervous tic back in the Much Music days I wanted to KILL so many times listening to him crumple or snap his cue cards or flip pencils around etc etc... He was a team player but damn all that collateral damage in the mic was hard to listen to!

February 16, 2018 @ 1:42 PM

@McNulty - I am as pro woman as you can get, guys like Weinstien make me sick to my stomach.

All I'm saying is accusations are not the same as convictions and there are people (men & women) who will lie to get themselves ahead or further their own agenda. IF Brown did these things, then throw the book at him, but there is compelling evidence that he did not....

I really don't understand why seeing both sides of this argument and not crucifying the guy before he's had a chance to prove his innocence is resulting in "Fuck off Philly-Bob"

I sure hope no one ever decides you have something they want and are willing to bury you to get it.

I really don't need this venom thrown at me so I'm going to leave you with 3 words:

Guy Paul Morin

February 16, 2018 @ 1:52 PM

RIP Leo Cahill legendary coach with the ARGO's. He was 89.

February 16, 2018 @ 1:58 PM

One – you literally started with the venom. Re-read your post.

And I will leave you with these words:

Brock Turner
OJ Simpson
Larry Nassar
Donald Trump
Harvey Weinstein
Bill Cosby
Matt Lauer
Roger Ailes
Bill O’Reilly

Not one said they did it. And every single one of them says there is compelling evidence that they didn't do it. And every one of them wants to attach their accusers. That's why women keep silent.

February 16, 2018 @ 2:07 PM

@ Mcnulty - My original post was a dig as WCI more than anything, he was on here last week touting the virtues of lie detector tests and I do so enjoy riling him up (i don't see any venom in that..)

My second post was a response to markosaar's "fuck you Philly-Bob" and I think I was pretty restrained in my response.

I agree with you that our system makes it hard for victims to come forward, and that is a shame. We can't fix things unless they do.

However, an accusation isn't tantamount to guilt. CTV has changed their story on the Brown case more often than you or I change clothes and that makes me wonder if all of this (in regards to Brown) isn't motivated by politics instead of by actual wrongdoing. If it is proven that he is guilty....then fuck him and the horse he rode in on. And I can promise you that if he is proven guilty, one of the first things I will do is come to my favorite blog and rake him over the coals.

The #metoo movement is a wonderful thing and is giving victims a voice, but there are people taking advantage of the movement for their own gain. I don't know if the Brown accusers are doing this (and neither do you). I had a fantastic manager loose his job when I was younger because one of the female staff accused him of touching her. He didn't, she ultimately admitted that he didn't, but at that point he felt the damage was done and couldn't come back.....

I am not about victim blaming...but I'm also not going to hang someone just because they were accused.

February 16, 2018 @ 2:26 PM

Actually I recommended Paikin take the poly, but no harm in Brown doing it too. A polygraph is part of the hiring process for multiple government departments (usually in policing or security). I've taken them that's why I recommended them. The evidence isn't admissible in court, but it draws a pretty accurate picture of what *might* be the truth. Certainly more than a "they said I did this". I mentioned that on a very public forum, who knows, maybe he read it.

I do get a chuckle over the frothing over all of this by all you Keystone cops. No one has asked how come 2 women came forward at nearly the same time with allegations. And I get a good laugh at the whole "Wynne orchestrated this". If it was a setup, it was likely an internal PC party setup versus Wynne. Wynne would have held off until the campaign had started before dropping the axe.

Now, as for the "Guy Paul Morin". That's less about accusations and more about a failed legal system that had too much public pressure in finding a patsy to go down the for the crime. Two entirely different things. Do you know who Kim Rossmo is? I do. He's the creator of geographic profiling software called Rigel. Rossmo is what I consider the greatest "crime hacker" ever. He said Guy Paul Morin was innocent. But to greater fame, he was the first guy to claim there was a "serial killer" in Vancouver preying on marginalized women. His employer at the time, the Vancouver Police Department, denied the claim & later fired the guy. The serial killer? Robert William Pickton of 953 Dominion Drive in PoCo. Of note Mr Pickton had appeared on CNI queries long before any of this started.

What's that song? Games People Play by Alan Parsons? Or to quote Willie Pickton "the truth never did come out". And it never will

Urooj Islam

Have any of you guys won something more than a free coffee or free donut from Roll Up The Rim?

Do those other prizes (money, TVs, cars, etc.) actually exist?

February 16, 2018 @ 2:56 PM

As for Ghomeshi......

I'll first predicate by saying these are "my opinions and only my opinions and they do not reflect the opinions of my employer"

In the realm of BDSM there is a relationship between the sub and the Dom (Domme) that requires absolute trust and respect. You need to know what a person's limits are and you need to discuss this prior to any activity. If you ask any good professional Dominatrix, she'll tell you that. Or go look up Master Tom the Dom on Twitter to get an idea how it's done. It's a real fine line and one that's easy to cross and perhaps that's what happened.

All that said, I believe the #MeToo chorus. Yes, there are those that will weaponize it, but those are the exception to the norm. Unfortunately what I see happening is the knee jerk reaction where one potentially wrong accusation is going to send women back into their shell. The real problem is criminal law is beyond a shadow of reasonable doubt so conviction becomes difficult. And society is trained to believe that conviction means guilt & non conviction means innocent. The police system is the beginning of the failure in the chain of command (with due respect to Pete Fowler). Bruce McArthur is a great example.

February 16, 2018 @ 4:27 PM

I think the song Games People Play is fitting for all this drama that's out there. Makes me yearn back to the days of living in a chalet in the mountains where it was easier to disconnect from the madness that is modern day life.

February 16, 2018 @ 4:31 PM

Fun fact: Throwback Alan Cross looked a lot like early period Howard Stern!! As for "Weird Al," once he dropped the mustache and started to straighten his hair, it just wasn't the same anymore!! Also, it didn't help matters any that state of popular music over the last 15 enough is barely worth the effort of parodying!! True story: I went to see "Weird Al" back in 1995 at the Danforth Music Hall at the height of his kiddie show fame, and my Pops and I were basically the only adults there without children!! We received a lot of puzzled second looks on that cold Friday evening!!

February 16, 2018 @ 4:35 PM

Last thing.... Philly you said, “I’m hoping the media go after his accusers with as much venom as they did Mr. Brown himself.”

That’s what deserved the fuck you. Attacking the accusers is precisely why women don’t come forward.
But you want them ruined.

February 16, 2018 @ 4:39 PM

Well, thanks to my ASD , I largely find myself on the outside looking in when it comes to all that nonsense. Of course, not including all the drama, virtual landmines and potential flame wars

So...lots of $$ to be made today, just a matter of how much ?
MY LV Golden Showers for some reason must play that alleged hockey team from quebec.
The outcome is a gimmy It is just a matter of bi how much.
If that girl goalie Kerry plays MY Golden Showers will win bi 4 or 5 goals ay least
If that team from quebec has a orange pile-on in net or a cardboard cut out of Curtis Joseph then the winning margin may be only 2 or 3....
Oh the decisions...

February 17, 2018 @ 7:42 AM

Nothing happened in sports last night. I thought I was first because there were no comments when I posted. I don't know how someone else could be first. Well, my Coyotes and my Habs will win. The Oilers and Golden Showers have no chance. Believe me.

& u think politics aint orchestrated?

After weeks of silence, Brown suddenly comes out of the closet & starts to communicate with the press. That photo of him looking completely drained was a photo of no leader. Even if u felt like that u dont release that to the public if u want to be shown as a leader.

& now as the seconds ticked down to the deadline, he re-enters for the position that he previously resigned from.

Dont know who his advisers are but u still have to clear your name before anything.

This guy is no Conservative. He is an embarassment to the party & should just disappear. Harper never trusted him so why should us Ontarians?

February 17, 2018 @ 12:21 PM

Blind Dave

TWO comments for the above poster.

I'd be delighted if the LV Golden Showers could take the Mug. I've been pulling for them all year, and while you have to lose before you can win in the playoffs, they have bucked all odds so far. Go LVGS!!!

I just realized LVGS sounds like a group for sexual orientation...

My other comment is on audio books. My vision is 9% in my best eye, and as a younger man I could juuuuust read a book with a normal font under a bright light. I truly miss the feel and smell of "real" books but these days it is so much easier to use Kindle or a similar app and blow up the font. My mom, who is more poorly sighted than me used to listen to the talking books all the time. She loved them but I found I had concentration problems with audio and more sunk in with reading. Pods have definitely helped, especially Toronto Mike'd, so I'm trying to balance the best of all worlds.

I have read thousands of books, thanks to my parents being avid readers, but these days I truly miss "books".

Oh, and if that was the real Cheryl above, she actually wrote Golden Showers.

Cheryl's Habitants going into Vegas and pulling off the upset over Anonomass' Golden Showers would be huge.

But Cheryl's Habitants just lost to Cheryl's Coyotes so Cheryl's Habitants are most likely to get flushed down to the toilet.

February 17, 2018 @ 1:29 PM

Aside from your kids, your marriage, and this great blog/podcast, your ultimate legacy could
undoubtedly be hipping people to just how cool the Toronto Public Library system is. Imagine
if you could book any of TPL's chief executives like, say, the HLIC (Head Librarian In Charge!).
What a barnbuster of a show that could turn out to be (well, at least I would think so!! P.S., you
would even have a couple of great songs to use as musical bumpers as their videos took place
in local libraries (Tears For Fears "Head Over Heels" and The Weeknd "Secrets.")

February 17, 2018 @ 1:46 PM

I partially agree with your comments on TMI about the Ontario PC party. They could elect a puppy and win the next election, but I think they could only form a minority government. They likely need a human leader to elect a majority government.

Voter turnout in the 2011 and 2014 was barely 50 percent, largely due to inept, uninspiring and corrupt leaders across all party lines. If this PC leadership race turns into a Gong Show, I fear that less than half of eligible voters will cast their ballots in the June election.

February 17, 2018 @ 2:40 PM

When one of your leadership candidates says kids are failing math cuz they are too busy thinking about anal sex well......good luck.

February 17, 2018 @ 3:02 PM

You mean to tell me that there is no co-relation between mathematics and sex in general?!?
Always felt that it was important to be at least moderately good in fractions and/or geometry in
case I ever found myself in a position (pun most definitely intended!!) where it important to be up-to-
date on my angles (ya know, in case there was a substantial height difference!). Sadly, hasn't been
an issue to date!!!

February 17, 2018 @ 3:21 PM

@ Mike

Ask Alan Cross if The Edge will ever bring back in one form or another....Spirit of Radio Sunday. Big missed opportunity in my opinion. As I frequent several hipster coffee joints in the city, I keep hearing more and more classic alternative like The Smiths, Joy Division etc etc. Younger people are really digging that stuff now.

Indie 88 and The Edge are almost the same station - someone has to do something different to break through.

February 17, 2018 @ 3:37 PM

Those "hipster" types don't listen to FM radio.

February 17, 2018 @ 8:05 PM

Anyways,It was just too easy for MY Golden Showers last night. For some reason that team they played tried to use 2 goalies at the same time, that girl Kerry and for some reason her Aunty played also, her name was Nemi.
I heard none of the Golden Shower players even broke a sweat even tho they filled the net with 6.
So,It's going to rain on Tuesday.why does it have to rain I hate rain but I love MY Golden Showers.

February 18, 2018 @ 6:43 AM

I find it difficult to understand how music radio stations still exist in 2018. Other than maybe some techno-phobic senior citizens who are afraid of anything more complicated than a radio, who would want to listen to music someone else chooses (I'm guessing along with ads that are even more repetitive than their limited playlists)?

February 18, 2018 @ 8:10 AM

Blind Dave, can't you learn braille? That's a skill that's useful. You can use braille for reading books. There are lots of places where you can learn to read braille. Well, my Coyotes won last night. That was a great game. My Habs lost though. That's no good. Why do the Golden Showers have to be so good?

It's the car. The vast majority of automobile commuters are still listening to terrestrial radio.

This weekend I've made several trips to the arena and back because my oldest has a tournament and I've found myself cruising the dial. Other than the bathroom and kitchen radios that are glued to CBC Radio One (unless there's a Jays game on) it's probably the only place I hear radio.

Of course, as technology improves, and new cars penetrate the market, this will change.

February 18, 2018 @ 8:41 AM

Mike. The vast majority of new cars have Bluetooth, streaming, etc. I just bought a new car and the FM radio is depreciated and just “part” of a whole entertainment package. I don’t even use 6 presets in my radio anymore.

February 18, 2018 @ 12:42 PM

Rick C in Oakville

@GDB, I was an avid listener when Scot Turner hosted Spirit of Radio Sundays, it was great to hear some long forgotten music. This is where terrestial radio still has a purpose for older folk like me who doesn't want to figure out Spotify etc. I get easily bored with the uploads on my Ipod, and tend to listen to Podcasts.
On a sad note, Becca Schofield of the # BECCATOLDMETO movement past away this weekend from her brain cancer . She asked that we all do a good deed/act of kindness.

February 18, 2018 @ 12:49 PM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

Even if all new cars have Bluetooth, I don't think the majority use it. Sure, the tech savvy with good smart phone data plans will use Bluetooth, but most will turn on the radio.

And those with older cars won't have the choice.

February 18, 2018 @ 2:19 PM

Urooj Islam

It just depends on what you grew up doing. I still listen to FM radio in the car and I still have the six presets.

I'm 31, not a total geezer yet and not a complete moron when it comes to adapting to newer technologies but music streaming in cars just isn't for me.

On a side note, who do you guys think Cheryl is rooting for to get the #1 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft? The Coyotes or the Canadiens?

I don't own a car but I do rent them, mostly for road trips. I'll use the radio locally for traffic but also to listen to my favourite radio stations. As soon as I'm out of range then I switch to my iPhone and listen to the music on there.

@Urooj...As in everything else Cheryl will root for whomever her trainer tells here to root for.

@ Cheryl

Thanks for the advice. I'm not at the point where I need braille yet, but that may be an issue down the road as my eyes deteriorate with age. I'm sure I'd be better off having the skill ahead of time, rather than scrambling when I need it. I appreciate the thought!

February 18, 2018 @ 9:11 PM

Probably my Coyotes will win the draft, but who knows. Anyway, Dave, if you start learning braille now, then you won't have to scramble. I was always blind so I learned braille when I was a kid. I know there are some people who absolutely refuse to learn braille. I just hope you're not one of them. It takes up a lot of room. In print, there are books with one volume. In braille books are often two ore more volumes.

I only listen to radio in the car, generally 590 CBC 1 and sometimes 820 from Hamilton when i'm alone . For music i listen to what's on my phone.

When the family is in the car we will turn on the radio for music and generally we listen to ads. Ads on the edge , 99.9 , indie 88 and seemingly any other station we try to get away from the ads on the regulars.

That's why I've tuned out. the music is pretty meh and it seems like there's 5 ads for every song. I swear Saturday in the car the ad breaks were 5 or more minutes long.

It's almost as bad on 590 of course but the ad breaks come in cycles so i just flip between my phone and the radio

February 19, 2018 @ 12:34 PM

Urooj Islam - do you mean like Sirius XM streaming? or also connecting via bluetooth to stream a music app?

I use the radio, have a lot of presets too but also connect via Bluetooth and listen to whatever is on my phone. I'm 30 ! Most of my friends are not listening to radio when in the car anymore though.

at the end of the day though, i end up on Jewell 88.5 more often that not hahaha.

IMHO boom had the right approach when out of the ashes of Jack FM rose Toronto's Greatest Hits. Essentially, it was an expansion of the success chumfm was having with its 80s/90s + A-CHR format. SRS seemed to be a successful outcome of Toronto's 'boom effect', seemingly felt at chumfm as well. I am unsure as to the reason of the fate of the Spirt Sunday but it certainty was poor judgement on the part of Corus beancounters. In the meantime, the boom effect has been felt at the nation's classic rock station Q107.

Similarly, Scot Turner was building a 90's leaning rhythmic format on 93-5 and the 'flow effect' (known as The Move) was real on the big CHR players, the likes of 92.5 and 103.5 branching out to combat with throwback weekend programming. I'm equally confused as to the beancounter slash to the 93-5 format as a drastic overnight move to be the city's mumble rap frequency.

If there is no room on Toronto's FM dial for SRS and Flow-like throwbacks, how does one explain the huge Totally80s success on 97.3 or the lunch hour mix show on Z103.5......?

Did I just hear Brian Gerstein call into PTS and ask Bob to do Toronto Mike's podcast or was I having an auditory hallucination?

That was awesome!

I hope Bob eventually does it but right now, I am focused on getting Ann Rohmer out of the way.

February 19, 2018 @ 5:50 PM

Well, not a big sports night. My Habs play the Flyers tonight though. Habs will win. Carey Price will be his usual self. That's what will happen. Yes, Bob Seger and John Mellencamp will live for many more years. I just know they will.

The plump chump has finally been stumped!! What was that song on today's edition of
TMI? Local inquiring minds desperately need to know. Thanks in advance!!!

That was Newfoundland's Hey Rosetta! with their wonderful song Yer Spring from Seeds, one of my favourite albums from the past decade.

February 20, 2018 @ 9:51 AM

Always like being introduced to new (for me!!) music, although I believe that I did take their last
CD out of the library. Boy, do I rue the day a few years from now when new physical music media
disappears completely.

@Mcnulty -

This is not about victim blaming. I wish we were having this conversation face to face as something gets lost when it's all text.

I think every perpetrator of harassment should face the full fury of law and society. But in this era, a simple accusation is enough to ruin someone's life. All I'm saying is that if someone makes a false accusation, there should be some form of consequence for that.

IF (and I mean if) Brown is found to have not done any of the things he is accused of, then the people who have ruined his entire career (let's face it, he can run for leadership again, but he ain't gonna win), the people who ruined his career with false allegations should face punishment.

Again, if he is found guilty...string the bastard up.

I don't know how I can be any clearer than that, if your response is still "fuck off" then I guess I'll have to accept it.

Freddie Anderson has to be the MVP for the Leafs so far this year. Most shots against of all goalies, most games played, In top 3 in NHL for most shutouts, GAA & Save Percentage. If not for him who knows what would have occurred lately. 1st month of season Leafs Nation were hanging him on a noose with his record then.
Just sayin'.

February 20, 2018 @ 10:11 PM

Urooj Islam

I'm with you, dave.

Andersen gets relatively little of the pub when it comes to this team's turnaround compared to a Marner or a Nylander but he's right up there with Matthews as the biggest reasons behind it, at least in my opinion.

Best goaltending the Leafs have gotten since Belfour.

February 20, 2018 @ 11:57 PM

Urooj Islam

Oops, sorry, dale*!

My apologies! it's late.

February 20, 2018 @ 11:58 PM

My Habs lost. They should have won that game, but they did not. That game sucked. Come on Habs. You have to do better than that. Well, they better win tomorrow. Carey Price is allowing a lot of goals these days. That's no good.

Fighting extreme tedium (Summer Olympics Event 2020!!) and wondering if there is a potential
ETA for the Alan Cross jam kicking? So I will be sure to park my wide Tuchus in front of a TPL
computer terminal anxiously awaiting its arrival. Please and thank you, natch!!!

I hope to post Alan Cross's jam kicking by 3:30pm.

Thanks for the speedy reply!! Very much looking forward to it, but sadly might have to put
it off until tomorrow as that is when the Reference library is at its most 'ripe', if ya smell what
this most un-Rock like lump is cooking!!

Avoid spoilers. :)

February 21, 2018 @ 10:42 AM

Well, truth be told, I'll probably just invest in one of those face masks that more and more
folks are sporting on the streets of the TDot and semi-power my way through the stench!!
Seriously, most downtown branches of TPL could do definitely do with a Febreze or Lysol
sponsorship and packs of bedbug detecting canines. No joke!! And security that is actually
willing to throw out blatant in-library crack smokers (True Story: actually happened on the
first floor of the Reference library last summer!!)

February 21, 2018 @ 10:47 AM

Cheryl if it makes you feel any better at all, my Leafs won last night and it did not suck.

I'd like to thank the Leafs for scoring just before I left for my son's hockey game and then not scoring during the two periods I missed.

Andersen is our MVP this season. He's been unbelievably great.

February 21, 2018 @ 11:23 AM

@ Mike - that was very considerate of them, I hope your son's game went just as well!!

Andreson needs to be in the conversation for the Vezina trophy this year...he has been just lights out!!

February 21, 2018 @ 11:32 AM

Could I perhaps borrow that TDSB kindergarten book when you are finished with as I'm
seriously contemplating a Billy Madison-style do-over? Although for me, it would definitely
feel like the first time as I never went to either branch of kindergarten back in the day!!
(P.S., this definitely explains a lot about my serious lack of achievement in life!!!)

February 21, 2018 @ 12:42 PM

Finished with it, that is!!

The last time I registered one of my kids for kindergarten was 2008, so I really need a refresher. The biggest change, of course, is it was only half day for my first two kids.

A rare loss for my son's Penguins last night. I think it ended up being 6-2 or something like that. Oh well!

February 21, 2018 @ 12:47 PM

Seriously, the building blocks to a successful later life largely start before grade one.
I was thrown out of parochial pre-school for corrupting the other children so JK and SK
were a total no-go-zone. Don't think the TDSB powers that be would take too kindly to a 6-foot,
near 45 year old dumpling trying to infiltrate their institutions of lower learning!!!

February 21, 2018 @ 12:52 PM

My trainer's son goes to junior kindergarten and it's full days. That's good or else my trainer would have had to figure out what to do with his son the rest of the day. tonight lots of sports. My Habs and Coyotes both play. I also have basketball back as I have my Cavs and my Nets.

February 22, 2018 @ 7:06 AM

*Insert grumpy cat pic here

February 22, 2018 @ 7:52 AM

Very clever pick with today's TMI song choice!! PJ's "Black" might have also been
good if only for the title alone, certainly not the lyrical content!!

I thought it was too early in the podcast's run to play a second Pearl Jam song.

February 22, 2018 @ 10:12 AM

You're right, and as I stated above the lyrics don't exactly fit as a tribute to an influential
man's passing!!

February 22, 2018 @ 10:20 AM

Humble suggestion: Toronto Mike 'd Byte-sized (perfect for Youtube, as that
45 second clip of Stephen Brunt strongly illustrates!), or perhaps Toronto Mike'd
'tubed, if you prefer!!
