That Raps loss was brutal, we should not take losses like this mannn.
We looked discombobulated and just got frustrated at the end.
Hope we win tonight! Also, I am not keen on Kyle being in the 3 point competition - after last year's injury issue so he had better know what the hell he's doing this time around.

I'm first! Sorry Cheryl. I have no heat or hot water this morning in my building and the Habs lost again. What a crappy start to the day :)

February 2, 2018 @ 8:25 AM

I'm first. Goody goody gumballs. My Habs and Coyotes lost though. That's no good. I hope my Nets and Suns win tonight. Oh well, who knows what's wrong with my Habs, but they're not winning.

February 2, 2018 @ 8:25 AM

Damn i thought i was first.

John M. - omg i hope you get your heat and hot water back soon :(

On the bright side, the Leafs won another laugher. 9-0 cumulative score over the past two days.

February 2, 2018 @ 8:38 AM

John M.

@JJ Thanks jj. I am currently living in Halifax for a little while and fortunately it is mild here today. Around 4 celcius now.

February 2, 2018 @ 8:45 AM

Leafs are looking great. Love seeing the young guns meeting (exceeding?) expectations.

Raps loss was a heartbreaker. These are the losses that have me questioning whether they really are ready to be considered in the top tier of teams. It really feels like the east could be ours for the taking this year. But need to earn it still!

February 2, 2018 @ 8:46 AM

Awesome, I'm first. Great night for hockey last night with the basement dweller's losing (except the dreaded Senaturds) and Canada's team getting a second shutout in a row. I don't think they'll be scored on the rest of the year. Freddy Andersen will win the Vince Lombardi trophy for sure, I know it.

February 2, 2018 @ 8:53 AM

John M.

What the hell is going on with the Vegas Golden Knights? Are these guy's for real! Can they actually win the cup in their first year?

February 2, 2018 @ 9:00 AM

I've been waiting for the VGK to come back to earth so long, I think I've stopped waiting... maybe they're actually this good?

I don't know how, though... it's really incredible and completely unprecedented.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:03 AM

John M.

@Mike. Have you reached out to Kristy Knight or Jill Colton to your basement? I think Jill would be a very interesting interview and somewhat controversial. Check out her youtube channel.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:10 AM

John M. - well 4 degrees is better because I thought you were in Toronto with these horrid temps. still, it'll hopefully be resolved soon.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:11 AM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

@John M.

I would reach out to Kristy Knight. I just chatted with Paul Morris about coming on, so I think I'd do that episode first and then after a little time see if I can get Kristy to drive to southwest Toronto.

As for Jill Colton, I'm not sure if I want to do those type of episodes. Alex Pierson was great, but Jill is a different animal. For example, I've been going back and forth with Sue-Ann Levy about coming on, and she's into it, but I haven't booked it yet for similar reasons.

I just have some decisions to make.... I'm still open to the possibility, but not certain it would be any fun for me.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:17 AM

VGK are the best story in sports this year. They've been playing their hearts out and seem to find a way to win regardless of the roadblocks thrown in front of them. I would love to see a deep playoff run out of this team. The players deserve it, the coaches deserve it and the fans in Vegas deserve it!!! (I never thought they'd get the community support that they are getting.....I will have to rethink my opinion of Southern US hockey fans moving forward)

February 2, 2018 @ 9:20 AM

John M.

@Mike. Understood. Jill would upset some people for sure. I would be more interested in her take on the media business.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:22 AM

Two days after being promised that my friggin' bathroom would finally be repaired I'm still in
limbo/purgatory/sponge bath hell!! Not in a position to make waves or move (no rent increase in
8 plus years and I pay storage costs as well) so I guess I'll just have to continue to suck it up! On the
bright side people have been giving me a wide berth on our busy public transit routes. Perhaps
they are trying to send me a message of some sort? Sadly I don't do too well with comprehending
body language. So sorry Ace of Base and Tesla fans, but I most definitely did not see the Sign(s)!!!

I think if podcasting was my job, I'd do it.

The thing is, it's still a passion project that thankfully doesn't cost me any money (thanks to generous patrons and a few great sponsors!), just my time. And because I enjoy it, I'm delighted to make that trade. But if it feels like work, and isn't fun, and doesn't pay the mortgage or daycare, etc., I have to question why I'm doing it.

But we'll see... maybe banging my head against a wall for 90 minutes is more fun than I think it would be. :)

Fun fact: Signs might have been the first song I learned all the words to, excluding nursery rhymes and kids songs, of course!

Or maybe it was Rockin' Robin... or Chantilly Lace...

February 2, 2018 @ 9:27 AM

John M.

@Mike. I hope you can lure KK to your basement. She's a hoot.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:29 AM

I'd stay on the side of caution and avoid booking those types of guests. Might provide
for some interesting debate/heated comments but wouldn't be much fun to listen to.
Those types of attitudes/views get enough attention and coverage elsewhere!!! BigBopper4eva!

February 2, 2018 @ 9:31 AM

Don’t you just love CTV news these days.
They got rid of the sports so they can plug their awful show The Launch and fill the other time with useless entertainment stories. Any thoughts on Shaw? I think he will be packing it in this year. He seems out of place among the hipsters like Demello and the others.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:34 AM

Keep it a passion project.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:39 AM

Being a self-hating masochist and an ace at self-saboteur, I have subjected myself to the last 3
episodes of The Launch! Quite possibly the worst musical reality show since American (Idol)
Juniors back in the day!! Last week's show featured Nikki Sixx as a mentor/songwriter and any
remaining respect I once had for his middling talent(s) evaporated immediately. A young
rocking trio from out West (Calgary, I believe) were the so-called victors, but the song they were
given to record sounded like a dog's leftover breakfast!! As for Ken Shaw, perhaps he should
simply cash out and apply for a job at the car dealership undoubtedly not named in his honour!!!

February 2, 2018 @ 9:44 AM

My Ken Shaw impersonation will never retire.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:48 AM

But how's your Dick Smyth? A real shame that he isn't local enough to appear on the podcast!
His dulcet tones were a highlight of my questionable misplaced 'childhood'!!!

February 2, 2018 @ 9:54 AM

Sounds like Mike is afraid of getting redpilled!

On a much more serious note this Bruce McArthur murder story is insane. Crazy to think he was a mall santa at one point.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:56 AM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

Absolutely! I heard a lot of Dick Smyth on the radio, and then on TV when CFMT would broadcast the CFTR bits.

February 2, 2018 @ 9:56 AM

Between him and Peter Silverman, I learned everything one needs to be/do to be a cantankerous
old curmudgeon and I'm barely 45!!!

February 2, 2018 @ 10:00 AM

Another great show was Canadian Idol , how many seasons did that last? Speaking of great shows, who could forget Canada’s Got Talent. I was honoured to attend a taping for one of the episodes. I would have gladly traded my spot there for a seat in the dentist chair while he performed root canal without anesthetic! Anybody remember who won that?

February 2, 2018 @ 10:01 AM

I believe that Canadian Idol lasted from 2003 until 2008 (too long, IMO!!!), and for that we are
still blessed with the multi-talented original punk rocker Jacob Hoggard of Hedley infamy!
Canada's Got Talent-Adjacent lasted for two seasons and then was taken out back and put
down like an even more grateful Old Yeller!!!

February 2, 2018 @ 10:06 AM

Thanks to Wikipedia, I humbly stand corrected. Canada's Got Talent-Adjacent only lasted
one season. Chalk my remembrance of that non-existing second season to the ever-dreaded
Mandela Effect (with all Thanx(!) going to last week's episode of The X-Files for that literate

From everything I've seen and read, Bruce McArthur is awfully old to suddenly start serial killing. Toronto's previous serial killer, Peter Woodcock, killed his first three as a teenager. This Bruce McArthur situation is highly irregular.

I wonder if he's been at this longer than we suspect?

He's really only the second serial killer we've had. Yes, Bernardo was from Toronto, but he didn't kill here (that we know).

Chilling stuff...

February 2, 2018 @ 10:43 AM

I believe Bernardo was the Scarboro Rapist though I can't remember if that was ever "official". Serial killers tend to work their way up and may start by killing animals. TPS has apparently asked for other missing persons files from other local jurisdictions.

Yep, Bernardo was indeed the Scarborough Rapist.

Kerry Winter (cousin of Barry Sherman) claims that Barry asked him to kill Honey Sherman on 2 separate occasions. Kerry Winter failed a lie detector test. This murder case gets more intriguing.

Oh good, I'm first!

Happy Friday, everyone.

Mike, I'm really excited about the upcoming Keegan Matheson episode. Can you please ask him how he thinks the Blue Jays should/will manage rebuilding the team for the future while still trying to keep the 2015 bandwagon running with the Dome packed every night?

I'm sure Rogers are loving the attendance numbers of the last 2+ years and don't want Shapiro to do anything drastic to hurt them.

Also, please just geek out about Vlad Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette for 30 minutes.

@Beatts SWEET! Glad you're up to date on that!

The Sherman murder IS getting pretty interesting ( Not for the victims or their family of course) .

The Bruce McArthur thing is sickening and far too close to home. One of our Friends had him on Facebook and other friends had had friend requests . I think Mike is correct and there could be a trail of bodies going back decades.

February 2, 2018 @ 4:28 PM

Sad to hear about Dennis Edwards' passing the day before his birthday (75 or 76 depending
on the source). He was great with The Temptations. "Don't Look Any Further" is a terrific song
but the video is absolutely atrocious, even for that schlocky time period of 1984 or so!
Nevertheles, Philip Michael Thomas' stillborn musical passion project, "Just The Way I Planned
It" from late in 1985 makes that video look like one of the all-time greats!!! R.I.P.

February 2, 2018 @ 4:53 PM

Urooj Islam

LOL! That's hilarious, man.

@James Edgar

I have a sour taste in my mouth from whole Sherman murders situation. The family is way too involved in shaping the narrative of the investigation and its findings. I know money buys influence but they need to back off and let the police do their thing.

Plus, the belief that someone just waltzed into a billionaire's house, murdered two people and casually walked out is laughable. If it was a murder, they would know who did it by now. I can't even walk down the street without being on multiple cameras, both commercial and residential. I don't even want to imagine the security system they have.

February 2, 2018 @ 4:55 PM

Left out an 's' in "nevertheless" in my last comment and wish to apologize from the bottom
of my blackened heart. Will definitely try to spell/edit better in the future!

February 2, 2018 @ 5:03 PM

Regarding, the Vegas Golden Knights, I, too, expected them to come back to earth and eventually miss the playoffs. In fact, last summer, I thought the Knights would be just another lousy expansion team. I even made a stupid joke that a certain commentator with an alt-right agenda had about as much chance of appearing on your podcast as the Knights had of winning the Stanley Cup in 2018.

I still think Vegas is a long shot to win it all this year, but their odds of winning the Cup do appear to be much better than the odds of that alt-right guest appearing on your podcast.

Scotty Bowman was a guest on Prime Time Sports a few weeks ago and he believes the Golden Knights benefited from being the only new addition to the league and not having to split the proceeds of the expansion draft with a second team.

Anybody know what's happened to CTV Toronto reporter Natalie Johnson? She hasn't been on the air since December. Her Twitter feed doesn't indicate she's no longer with CTV nor does it indicate why she's away.

February 2, 2018 @ 6:17 PM

I would love to see VGK make a long playoff run. It's a bandwagon but I am cheering for them. I even have them highlighted on mt Score app. Whoever runs their twitter feed is funny as hell and awesome at promotions. Actually, I think there might be a couple of people responsible for game-time tweets, as I do notice a difference in the writing style..

I wonder how many Canadian based teams will miss the playoffs? It looks like four for sure and maybe Calgary. That's really sad.

I'm not worried about controversial guests on Toronto Mike'd, as I rarely get worked up over things, but Mike is right. It has to be fun foe him.

It's been a difficult week for our family. All of my grandparents, both my parents, my younger brother have all passed away in last while. My wife's Dad passed away in his early 50's 26 years ago.
We have to be thankful for our immediate family & friends during these times.
My youngest Brother In Law passed away late this Tuesday with a wife & 2 siblings - 20 & 12 years old.
Fortunately there is support from my sisters & myself & the rest of our families.
Take time to Kiss or Hug your loved ones & appreciate the time you have with them as life is too short & can change in an instant.

Well, what a mixup. There were no comments yesterday when I posted so that's why I said I was first. What is this certificate thing anyway? I get a choice of yes or no or view certificate. It's a pain where the suns doesn't shine. It happens about once a month. The only way to get out of it is end task on Internet Explorer. Can't you get rid of this certificate. I'm hearing something about some kind of big game taking place tomorrow evening.
Not really sure what the details are, but a little bit confused about why Justin Timberlake has
been booked as the musical guest at something called the half-time show, I believe? Anyway,
not sure what is athletic about that dude, or why the NLF(?) always books such inappropriate
acts like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, etc.. What might look good on TV probably doesn't
always translate well to a stadium likely full of fans with different musical tastes. All I know is that
the real main event for me happens after the post-game wrap-up on This Is Us, where Pearson
Family patriarch Jack finally meets his maker in a savage house fire. Gonna have to take extra
vitamins to stay up late for that one. Come on Shelbyville Sharks!!!

It's been a while since I've posted but a very interesting thing I just noticed with Bell Media for the superbowl:

They have been whining to the CRTC to get the rules changed so Canadian Ads will get played on American channels here in Canada, but havent had much success with it so they're doing this "Watch to Win" contest in Canada again.

Notice how they put two women up there to promote, and present the awards for the contest. Very sneaky Bell I see what you guys are up to trying to do everything possible to get the male viewership to pay attention to your feeds!

Leafs got school last night. Wasn't even close. Part of the development and learning curve, I suppose.
Didn't enjoy how the Bruins outplayed our guys, it was a tough game to watch, especially 2nd & 3rd.
Bruins are a good mix of vets and youth and getting stronger as the season progresses.
Looks like the road to Stanley will run through Boston every season for the next little while.
2 very telling issues from last night, - Babcock getting out-coached; and how Chara & MacAvoy had no trouble with the Matthew's line.

Looking forward to tonight.
We're heading to the cottage after my son's hockey game this afternoon. We've got Dish tv, (Erie, PA) so we won't have to put up with the Bell or Rogers feeds.

Steve Paikin is the latest media personality to be accused of sexual misconduct, he was accused by former mayoral candidate Sarah Thomson. TVO has appointed a 3rd party investigator but is keeping Paikin on the air during the investigation.

February 5, 2018 @ 11:14 AM

@Beatts...thanks for the laugh. That was a good one!

February 5, 2018 @ 11:21 AM

Aidan - I am surprised, but not surprised anymore. So many people have been accused, I think I am just numb to it all.

They are keeping him on the air which is interesting - most places seem to suspend the accused while they investigate; if he is guilty, I do hope it gives the chance for other women to come forward.

February 5, 2018 @ 11:42 AM

@Boomer You're welcome :)

I like to bring good looks and levity with a splash of snide remarks to the chat.

February 5, 2018 @ 11:43 AM

Sarah Thomson was quoted in a 2013 Toronto Star article as joking with Conrad Black to have sex with her in exchange for an interview. Paikin allegedly said if Thomson had sex with him, he'd let her on his show.

I'm not going to rush to conclusions and I don't want to launch a debate on a fun forum like Toronto Mike. But why is it OK for a women to 'joke' about having sex with a man in exchange for an interview, but when a man does it it's sexual misconduct?

February 5, 2018 @ 12:10 PM

Is this the comment she is referring to? I understand where you're coming from in this instance.
You're right here is not the time or place - and we can't know much until more details come out.
Not every joke from a man is considered sexual misconduct by me, but most men accused have been pretty horrible from what I have read thus far.

I heard. Laughably inaccurate and unfair. For example, he said I've been begging him to come on Toronto Mike'd. The fact is, I invited him once in 2014 and he politely declined and invited him a second and last time this past January. That's it!

He also said I've had Todd Shapiro on dozens of times to trash him and all my episodes are about him. The 305 episodes, only one of which featured Todd, say otherwise.

And one more thing... he says I've been slagging him here for twenty years. That's so untrue. When Strombo filled in on the Edge one week, I wrote that it was so much better. I wrote that because I believed it to be true. I sure didn't call him a loser. That's not what I do.

Inaccurate, unfair and unfortunate. The man doesn't know what he's talking about.

Any updates on the Paul Bliss story. Seems oddly quiet and just wondering if anything happened after the suspension. Probably did in his career even if it wasn’t true. Also what ever happened to Ingrid Schumacher? It’s like both stories fell off the planet?

Nothing really happened in sports last night. Tonight I really need my Cavs, Nets, and Suns to win. They better win. I need my Coyotes to win tonight as well. Snow tomorrow. Now they say 5 to 10 cm. I really want to go out for dinner tomorrow. It better not be really bad. I hate snow storms.

Rick C in Oakville

I wonder if Paikin may have been poking some fun at her comments about having sex with Conrad Black to get him on her show.
Lets see if she can get her witness to verify this.

I read in the Star that the witness has refused to comment.

Also that she actually did appear on his show many times since this alleged incident.

That's not true! I watched a thoroughly entertaining Leafs game!

tl:dr - He's an asshole & a coward.

February 6, 2018 @ 7:26 PM

What a night. My Cavs had a lead at the half. They go and blow it. It's awful. My Nets and Suns also lost. My Coyotes also lost. Well, some school buses are canceled. Schools are open, so how in the hell do people get to schools without buses. Anyway, 5 to 10 cm of snow. If I wasn't going out, it would be okay, but I am going out. I don't know if my dinner will be canceled or not. It better not be. I really need my Cavs, Nets, and Suns to win tonight. Why can't my Cavs win anymore?

February 7, 2018 @ 7:22 AM

More importantly Cheryl, how's the certificate situation panning out? Any resolution?

I asked Mike the other day why I keep getting ads at the side of this page for baldness cures, erectile dysfunction and DVD box sets for TLC's "say yes to the dress" but he's ignoring all my correspondence.

I think he may still have walking pneumonia.

February 7, 2018 @ 10:04 AM

Wasn't at all aware that today was International Clash Day. Perhaps you could be kind enough to
put up a Youtube link to their Greatest/Ultimate Clash album "Cut The Crap"? Just kidding, that album
sucked!!! As for Big Audio Dynamite, I truly do believe that their best track was "C'mon Every Beatbox" from their 1986 album 'No. 10 Upping Street", an album that featured a behind the
scenes reunion with Joe Strummer (songwriting and production contributions). FYI: today is also
National Periodic Table Day, so perhaps we should all salute this momentous occasion by blasting
some Salt-N-Pepa at full volume?!?

February 7, 2018 @ 12:45 PM

Busy times, late catching up to the Open Mike.

I watched the Super Bowl on CTV to try to win the truck. Didn't win though. The two sportscasters who hosted are definitely female, but both of them are accomplished and (more to the point) excellent at their jobs. Dissing them because of their gender is completely out of line. Russell Peters got as much screen time as they did, but nobody is asking what demographic they were looking for with him.

The whole Steve Paulin thing rings untrue. The claim is that Paulin propositioned the woman in public, at a restaurant, in front of her assistant. No journalist with an ounce of senses, let alone someone as experienced and well-respected as Paulin, would be that reckless. I feel the same about the Paul Bliss story as well. Unfortunately I don't know how Bliss proves it when there wouldn't be any witnesses in his case.

Question of the day: ketchup on eggs, yes or no? I am having an excellent western sandwich with ketchup on it, but I know people that would not be seen with someone who ketchups their eggs.

Before I learned it was Clash Day, I was queuing up BADII's Rush to play during tomorrow's podcast. Stay tuned!

You spell Paikin funny. :)

One of my cousins is currently holed up at Sunnybrook hospital and out of boredom or self-
importance he emailed his support to Steve Paikin. My cousin has had no prior interaction with
Paikin other than as a regular viewer of Studio 2, but he actually received a quick, appreciative
response. Journalistic integrity in action, Folks!!

Can't imagine why you would choose that particular song to introduce tomorrow's guest!!
What about Paula Abdul's "Rush Rush" or "Don't Rush Me" by Taylor Dwayne? (Not-so-secretly
outing myself as a not-so-closeted lover of cheesy '80s/'90s pop music!!!)

February 7, 2018 @ 1:02 PM

Sarah Thomson would make for a far more entertaining guest at this point!! Or
perhaps any of the former Polka Dot Door puppeteers?!? (If you are looking to

The claim is that Paulin propositioned the woman in public, at a restaurant, in front of her assistant. No journalist with an ounce of senses, let alone someone as experienced and well-respected as Paulin, would be that reckless - Sid V

I suppose one could ask the same question to all these other men being accused out there. Why would you sexually assault and intimidate a female given you're position of prominence. Thing is, I actually believe the females *for the most part*. It's not a stretch to imagine males, complete with their big self important egos, might be guilty. Do I think some women would weaponize it? Yes, bit those would be the exception, not that standard. Most of them are coming forward because they feel comfortable enough speaking out. Now we've got another case of "old white man - itis" where they're all delusion bitches trying to ruin each others careers

Mike. When you get Paikin on, ask him if he'll take a POLYGRAPH on the issue. Hey, if you got nothing to hide, why wouldn't you.

February 7, 2018 @ 4:14 PM

@WCI, I am not sure what you mean by old-white-men-itis. There are significant differences among these cases.

Patrick Brown? Multiple complainants, social media trail, definite "position of power", even whispers of concern within the party long before the complaints came to light. Tough to give Brown the benefit of the doubt.

Paikin? A single complainant, a story about witnesses who it turns out won't talk (or don't exist), no relationship of power or professional superior/subordinate; this one is easier to question or even set aside pending any additional corroborating information.

I see these two as almost the two extremes of the current #metoo movement. There are some clear cases of men behaving badly, who deserve to be called out, but there are others who are being pilloried on pretty questionable grounds.

February 7, 2018 @ 4:55 PM

So take a polygraph. If you ever worked for cops or Feds you take them. The polographist can taylor then questions specific to the incident.

And who are you to ascertain what happened based on 3rd party information? What’s your connection to this? Or is this conjecture and circumstantial evidence. The reason women won’t speak up because of guys like you.

Polygraph time. It might not be admissible but it will clear the air for him.

February 7, 2018 @ 6:25 PM

Just like everyone else, I am basing my opinion on what has been reported. Sarah Thomson herself has been the primary source of info on her complaint, via her own blog.

I really don't want to live in a society where every accusation must be answered with a polygraph test, especially given that they are well below 100% accurate even in the best of hands. And if I come across as part of the problem for trying to inform myself before leaping to any conclusion on either side, I am ok with that. It is the farthest thing from the old-white-men-itis of your accusation. I will wait to see if Thomson's witnesses speak up, and what they say.

42 years ago today Darryl Sittler scored 6 goals & 4 assists for an immeasurable 10 pts. in 1 game & I was old enough to witness it. A record that may never be broken & same year scored 5 goals in playoffs against Philly also tying a record that still stands.
A true Maple Leaf & a gentleman as met him years ago.

February 7, 2018 @ 9:44 PM

@Sid V

Say whatever you want, but we're not going to get the case of having to use a polygraph every time someone is accused of something. What might happen is that males start actually taking the accusations seriously SO we build an ecosystem where women CAN come forward and not have to wait 10 years.

You see, you're missing the whole point of this. Don't blame the woman for the fall out of what happens to a guy. The fact that Patrick Brown was toasted by his party isn't the fault of his accusers. It's in the hands of his party & in other cases in the hands of the employers, etc.

But let's cut the shit OK. All I see lately is this "well these guys are getting picked on" as if it's some travesty. Like we should feign such concern for them. Where were they when the gays, the blacks, the native, the east Indians, etc., etc. were getting persecuted. No one gave THOSE people the benefit of the doubt. But now that the "empowered white guy" is suddenly the target oh we should feel sorry for him. Boo effin' hoo.

I'm in the business of security bud. I've did personal security. I'm VERY aware of the threats prominent people face as do their kids, families, wives, etc. You do realize that these women who speak up become targets themselves right? This happened recently to a woman in Alberta who spoke up against Kent Hehr. She now fears for her life and I believe she went into hiding. She had to flee her home. You really believe women jump on this train for their own benefit not realizing what hell they're going to go through?

@The Truth. Oh come on, do a little better. At least get something about transfer payments or Onterrible in the mix.

February 7, 2018 @ 11:44 PM

Well, I did go out for dinner, but boy it's slushy out. I'm tired of winter. Well, my Cavs won. That's great. They won it in the last second of overtime. Well, my Nets and Suns lost though. Oh well, hopefully my Habs and Coyotes win tonight. The certificate isn't showing now. I don't know why it comes up sometimes.

February 8, 2018 @ 7:10 AM

@WCI, I can't see anything in your post that has anything to do with what I posted. Looks like you are trying to drag me into a mudpit I have no intention of visiting.

Take a look at the Margaret Wente column in the Globe and Mail today. It presents the differences between the Paikin and Brown cases better than I can.

With that, I am moving on to other topics. Cheers.

February 8, 2018 @ 9:47 AM

Right. I'm going to read the writing of a 100 year old woman in an industry that's on it's deathbed KNOWN for inaccurate reporting and take that as the gospel? I stopped giving a damn about print media around the time I stopped caring about FM radio. It's all click bait.

BTW, maybe you should go to Mike's house when Paikin visits so you can see your hero. Another starry eyed dude who idolizes media types.

February 8, 2018 @ 10:59 AM

@ Sid - I believe I knew WCI as Irv back in the day. If that is the case, just don't feed the trolls man.

February 8, 2018 @ 11:32 AM

Oh, BTW Sid V

If Paikin had any sense he would come forth and demand to take a polygraph AND make it public. The results, if in his favour, would immediately shut down this woman. Seeing there are no criminal charges on this (and likely won't be) then you use whatever other means you have.

I learned one thing in life over the years. Never be kind and never let people walk all over you. I used to do that. You show a person #NoMercy. If allegations are made against you, you react quickly to stop them and turn things around on that person. That shuts them down.

As for the claim that polygraph's aren't that accurate (as you made), then please tell me why police services, CSEC, etc, use them as a tool in the hiring process?

""I mean no harm to Sarah Thomson. But Sarah, you and I both know the incident you described never happened. It's complete fiction," Mr. Paikin wrote. "To be clear, I did not have sex, suggest, request, imply, or joke about having sex with you."

The above just happened to appear on my Facebook moments after I wrote my last post (surveillance at it's finest). Anyway, if these are his words then do a polygraph around this statement alone. If he passes he's free and clear. Popular opinion will change *very* quickly

February 8, 2018 @ 11:33 AM

Are you that guy who whines incessantly about how much Stafford's show sucks but tunes in everyday? Cause you seem like it.

What's wrong muffin. You don't like me pointing out that men in power DO abuse their power with women? And that it's more commonplace than we want to recognize. Sorry, but I've got big enough balls to state my opinion without having to cower down like some beta male on the locker room.

Oh. if you don't like my comments you could maybe stop reading them LOL.

The sadist in me gets a bit of a kick when WCI riles you all up, truthfully :)

February 8, 2018 @ 5:18 PM

@Beatts. Actually I enjoy ruffling their feathers. It's *very* easy. I used to think it was just media people with thin skin, but since returning to Ontario I've noticed it's the whole population. A province, lead by Orville Reddenbacher that is scared to sell beer after 6 PM on Sunday in case society falls into anarchy. BTW, what's with poeple's inability to drive here. Ontario drivers are the *stupidest* idiots I've ever seen.

@Sid_V. You insensitive clod, I live in my car, not my Mom's basement. And if I really wanted to play keyboard cowboy, I'd shut down Boon's blog, turn off his electricity and change the SSID on his wireless to "Pretty Fly for a Wifi" then ransack his bitcoin wallet.

The craft beer selection is pretty good though. I guess it needs to be. If you want to live here you need to drink
