This was tough to watch. For athletes that are really showcasing themselves to the world (unless you're an X-Games fan, you've probably never watched this event since Sochi), it is too bad that the conditions hampered what they are physically capable of doing. Condensing the qualification rounds, and then making them compete when everyone was falling is really unfair to the competitors. Even the Gold medal winner said that her run was a fraction of what she could do, and although it won her gold, it normally wouldn't get her past the qualification rounds. They have two weeks, and the slopestyle course isn't scheduled for anything else, so I don't know why they couldn't reschedule it. Oh well though, I guess it worked out in our favor by winning the silver with a safe and clean run!

No way it was appropriate to run it with those gusting winds. From a safety factor #1, and it totally detracts from the product, as so few were able to execute all facet of the course. The racers as a group should have all boycotted it, and told the IOC to screw themselves, forcing them under those conditions. I saw some justifiable comments from racers after the event, and I don't blame them for being upset.
