Dang. I doubt it was planned, but there was a funny Arnold Palmer joke on the Simpsons that aired today.

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

Unplanned, but quite the coincidence.

Arnold Palmer won almost 100 professional golf tournaments but his first win was in Toronto in 1955 when he won the Canadian Open.

He transformed his sport and may he rest in peace.

We should toast him today with an Arnold Palmer: half ice tea, half lemonade.

Along with Jack Nicklaus one of the few golfers i was aware of growing up. My dad had a part time job Saturdays at Lakeview golf Course and although he never played he watched the tournaments that were on TV at the time quite avidly. Palmer was a favourite of his.

Arnold and Jack were my two favourites as a kid. Sad as it is, 87 is a good, long life. I hope it was a happy and prosperous one for Arnold and his family. May he RIP.
