Love your new setup. I am part way through the Ivar episode and it sounds great. It was a bit hard to hear him a couple of times when you first played a track, but you adjusted the music volume after a few seconds.

5-10- ? podcasts down the road, iId be interested to know if you feel any difference in the way guests respond/interact with you. Probably difficult to say on an individual basis, but maybe there is some general type thing that becomes evident, or not, positive or negative between the two set-ups.
They sort of look like a higher quality desk lamp type arm.

@ Anon&On,

They are not full fledged high end boom arms - those can cost into the $1000's, but what Mike has are arms that are designed for his mics. They are fully rotational and when you grab the mic and move them while talking the mics are fully isolated from any noise transference - conductive or non-conductive. For the price point and ease of installation they are perfect and they are perfectly balanced - which means they won't lower or raise without someone moving them which is exactly what you want.

A constant evolution, that's for sure. But with Andrew's guidance, and some good ol' trial and error, I like to think it's only sounding better.

Looks like a sick setup, but I can see how a tall guest may bonk his-her head!

@Rob J

Actually, you don't have to be that tall to hit your head!

Well, keep up the good work...hopefully the new mics work as expected and you continue to get great guests (tall and short)!
