I voted on the weekend as well Conservative Karim Jivraj. Minority Conservatives. Royals in five or six, sorry. I am now in a playoff pool with a few other guys. I picked the Royals. I want my money so they will win. They have to win it all so I get my money though. How about those Habs last night. Great home opener. They won 3 to 0. Carey Price is awesome and Max Pacioretty. Anyway, Habs are winning the cup next year. My Coyotes lost though. Oh well, it's one game. They'll win tomorrow over the Bruins. It may be close but a win. Kean is curling in Manitoba this weekend. First game this afternoon at 2:30. Kean will win.

So it seems the word 'gazette' was what they called a newspaper in Italy in 1600 or so because you paid for it with a coin named for a bird?

gazette (n.) Look up gazette at Dictionary.com
"newspaper," c. 1600, from French gazette (16c.), from Italian gazzetta, Venetian dialectal gazeta "newspaper," also the name of a small copper coin, literally "little magpie," from gazza; applied to the monthly newspaper (gazeta de la novità) published in Venice by the government, either from its price or its association with the bird (typical of false chatter), or both. First used in English 1665 for the paper issued at Oxford, whither the court had fled from the plague.

Americans, American sports broadcasters/networks, American sports announcers, etc. ad nauseum do indeed have a bias, against any Canadian sports team. They simply don't care for anything not American.

The Toronto Blue Jays are the lowest drawing team on American TV for Major League Baseball - even when they are a top-performing team (maybe even because of that). There's just no way around it, Blue Jays fans. American baseball fans vote with their viewing time: ABBJ - Anyone But Blue Jays.

With hockey, apart from some long-standing Original Six rivalries, you get ABC - Anyone But Canadians. Canadiens are included in that group.

Face it. The typical American couldn't care less about Canada or anything Canadian. Putting up with ignorant and occasionally arrogant American sports announcers is all part of it.

Trudeau wins on Monday and I think Steven Harper can take most of the credit. His little Islamophobic gambit has driven voters from the NDP camp over to the Liberal side, who as a result seem to be gaining momentum as we head into the home stretch. Quite ironic. It should be interesting to see if the Harper defeat will be the result of a Liberal minority or a catastrophic collapse of the Conservative vote similar to what happened to Kim Campbell after the Mulroney years. Early indications have a larger than expected voter turnout this time around, which is never a good sign for the incumbents. This certainly ain't my fathers' Conservative Party and I think that there's a bunch of older conservatives who feel the same way and can't in all good conscience, vote for Harper. It'll be fun to watch regardless of the outcome.

October 16, 2015 @ 1:50 PM

I love baseball & was at a local sports bar on Wed. when the jays won ALDS. There was a draw for 2 tickets for 1st game of ALCS BEFORE THE GAME STARTED Wed. & no draw tickets once the 1st pitch was thrown. I decided what the hell, pay $ 20.00 as all the proceeds go to local charity.

During the game it was said that 56 people are in the draw & the owner will notify each of us during the next few days who is still in the pool. Names will be picked randomly by a worker everyday at 8PM & if names drawn they are out. I got email late yesterday that of the 56 I'm still in with 8 people left. The 8 of us are invited tonight for the 1st game & appetizers will be paid for & 3 more names will be drawn. 3 more Saturday & last name drawn Sunday.

My fingers are crossed but I'd rather win either lottery this weekend.

Blind Dave

I voted in the advance poll last Monday and I voted Conservative. I am torn, though, as I admit it is time for a change. All long-ruling parties get stale after a couple of terns in power. It happened to the Conservatives in the 80's and to the Liberals in the 90's.

As for today, Mulcair could rise to be an excellent leader. He has the presence and the potential. It's a pity he is with the NDP and not the Liberals. Had he been centre, I would have voted for him but NDP policies scare me. They held Saskatchewan back for far too many years, Ontario was a joke under Rae, and I hear tale that Alberta corporations are getting very nervous about new taxation.

As for the Libs, Justin is a child in a man's skin. He is not a leader and inspires no confidence in me whatsoever. There's no way he would be able to handle himself on the world stage with Cameron, Hilly, Angie, or Vlad. They'd take turns using Justin as a toothpick.

I fear, though, that man-child will get in with a minority. I just hope that the supporting MP's and behind the scenes string-pullers can limit the damage.

Predictions:

Lib minority (pray polls are wrong, then Con minority) with each other as leader of the opposition. If Cons lose, Harper may have to be ousted, I doubt he'd go willingly.

What do you think Justin Trudeau is a "man child"?

October 16, 2015 @ 4:15 PM

Justin

I still can't believe the masses are considering electing Justin Trudeau. The man has proven himself to be a ghastly buffoon that I wouldn't trust running a high school student council. He's an un-serious playboy trust fund kid who had done nothing in his life so he decided to run for MP on daddy's name. High school drama teacher? White water rafting instructor? Are you kidding me? How on earth do Canadians think he has the requisite experience to handle the Prime Ministerial office? Have people even listened to him talk? He sounds like an actor who's playing the role of a political leader rather than an actual political leader. A recap of Justin's greatest hits:

"I admire China's basic dictatorship..."
"The budget will balance itself"
"We need to grow the economy from the heart outwards"
"It's very worrying, especially because Russia lost in hockey, they'll be in a bad mood. We fear Russia's involvement in Ukraine."
[On Canada's role fighting ISIS] "There's a lot of people, refugees, displaced peoples, fleeing violence who are facing a very, very cold winter in the mountains. Something Canada has expertise on is how to face a winter in the mountains with the right kind of equipment."
"The Liberal Party believes that terrorists should get to keep their Canadian citizenship. Because I do."
[On the Boston bombing] "Over the coming days, we have to look at the root causes...there is no question that this happened because there is someone who feels completely excluded."

A Liberal government will give you a new payroll tax, a new tax bracket, and a "price" on carbon (a tax). They will take away income splitting, take away the TFSA contribution increase, and take away our country's budget surpluses. Cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching. More money for our dear government. He'll flat out embarrass Canada on the world stage by pulling out of the ISIS mission, leaving dozens of our allies in the process. He'll go back to a neutral foreign policy instead of Canada taking principled stances against tyranny and oppression. He'll embrace Iran like the rest of the world, one of the most barbarous regimes on the face of the earth. He'll turn Canada into a Kathleen Wynne-style far-left government. We rational people cannot stand for this.

If you are voting Conservative like I am, you MUST get out and vote. We may not be able to beat them in approval rating but we can beat them in voters. More than ever, strength in numbers at the ballot box is crucial. I urge all Conservatives to make sure to cast your ballot on election day to keep our great country from turning into a pathetic farce with Trudeau at the helm. The man's an entitled, spoiled, and arrogant prick for thinking he can get into the PMO on his name. We can't let him accomplish that.

The polls often underestimate the Conservative vote and this election is closer than it looks right now. There is very much a change of Harper taking another election victory. Vote Conservative, tell your friends to vote Conservative, and get the vote out. Stop Trudeau.

Harper will prorogue Parliament no doubt. But how long can he legally do that? The Governor General, who has to approve such things, is a Tory. Even the former GG, not a Tory, didn't go against a sitting PM's wishes. However it may all end up going to the courts. But I'm just wildly guessing.

By the way do they save our ballots after computer tabulation? Is there a paper trail?

October 16, 2015 @ 7:09 PM

Nigel Trousershrapnel

@Stephen,
In the case of a non-confidence vote, the Governor General is obligated to ask the opposition if they can form a government. Doesn't necessarily mean the evil "coalition" government that everyone is so strongly against. The opposition parties can agree to terms, with the party with the least amount of seats swinging a deal with the party with the most seats and agree to support them for some concessions of course. It's happened in Canada before and it will probably happen again.
Mind you, coalition governments are legitimate and democratic because it is elected parliamentarians who decide to form them or not, and who later have to face the electorate and defend their actions. Canadians might not like the idea of such an arrangement, but that doesn’t make it undemocratic or unconstitutional. They usually result in accountable government which would be a refreshing change in my book.

October 16, 2015 @ 7:22 PM

Perry Masonjar

Thanks Nigel. Didn't understand that after a successful non-confidence vote the GG was obligated to ask the opposition if they were prepared to form a government.

Kansas City Athletics (1955 - 1967 / moved to Oakland 68')

1965: Another awful 59-103 last place season is highlighted by Bert Campaneris who plays all nine positions in a game on September 8th. The night was billed as "Campy Campaneris Night", as 20,000 fans show up at Municipal Stadium to watch the A's face the California Angels. Campaneris didn't get a chance to field at his natural shortstop position in the first inning, but did assist on a pickoff as a 2B in the second inning. After an uneventful stay at the hot corner in the third, he moved to left field for the fourth inning, and caught a fly ball. Campy snared another in centerfield the following inning, then muffed a Jim Fregosi fly ball in rightfield in the sixth inning, but as a 1B managed to snag a pop-up in the seventh inning. Campaneris' most challenging assignments came in the final two innings. When he took the mound in the 8hth he pitched as well as could be expected. After inducing a fly out from leadoff man Jose Cardenal, Campy allowed two walks, one hit and one run. However, he got a break when Angels 2B Bobby Knoop struck out and catcher Billy Bryan caught Fregosi trying to steal 3B to end the inning. Campaneris moved behind the plate in the nibth, and the Angels Ed Kirkpatrick took advantage by stealing second after a leadoff single. Three batters later, with Kirkpatrick on third and Tom Egan on first, California again tested Campy's arm with a double steal. 2B Dick Green took the throw at second and quickly whipped it back to Campaneris in time to nail Kirkpatrick coming home. Kirkpatrick's only shot at scoring was to crash into Campaneris and try to jar the ball loose. Even though Campaneris held on to preserve the 3-3 tie, the collision forced him to leave the field. After he headed off for X-rays, the two teams dueled long into the night. The game didn't end until the 13th inning, when the Angels scored twice to win, 5-3. In another publicity stunt, Satchel Paige who stared 25 years earlier with the Negro League's Kansas City Monarchs starts one game for the Athletics. Paige, whose real age is unknown, is believed around 60-years old. In his one appearance old Satchel goes three innings allowing one hit, and no runs.

Disappearing data is only one part of a larger narrative of a degradation of knowledge—one that extends from federal scientists being prevented from talking about their research on topics as mundane as snow to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission being forced to take the federal government to court to obtain documents that should have been available under Access to Information. The situation has descended into farce: Library and Archives Canada (LAC), entrusted with preserving historic papers, books, photographs, paintings, film and artifacts, was so eroded by cuts that, a few years ago, author Jane Urquhart was unable to access her own papers, donated to LAC in the 1990s.

Economics?

William Thorsell (former Editor in Chief Globe and Mail)

An accumulation of baggage eventually weighs the owner down to the point of stumbling and falling. Mr. Harper is quite overweight in that department. In recessionary times, he is running a primary budget surplus (revenues over program spending) of some 1.4 per cent of GDP — an elementary error in Economics 101, less a matter of ideology than incompetence. Governments should not pull money out of an economy facing strong economic headwinds: We might refer to Stephen “Hoover” in this context, after the hapless U.S. president in the 1930s.

You do not cut the national sales tax in favour of targeted tax goodies in your party’s political interest. Nor do you do so to reduce Ottawa’s capacity to fund grievously inadequate infrastructure, undermining productivity and aggravating social divides. You do not claim success in energy policy having seen no new significant pipelines approved or built on your watch, either domestically or in our interest in the United States. Well, how about those Royals. Yes, I say Royals in five or six. Nice win and I am closer to getting the money. I want the money and I picked the Royals. They have to win it all for me to win the pool of $100.00. Kean lost the first game, but won the second game so that's good. They play again today at 11:00. I sure hope my candidate, Karim Jivraj wins. Grocery Gateway is really good if you order stuff to be delivered first thing in the morning. I have, for the most part, voted Conservative (P.C) for may years. I have voted for Ed Broadbent. Never have i voted Liberal. Saying this, it boggles my mind why Harper would attend a function hosted by the buffoon Ford brothers. Obviously, they contributed big $$$$ to his campaign. Unfortunately, it has cost him my vote. Say, "Goodnight." Harper. Not voting for little t. Had enough of his father.

Rob: “She just took my gun upstairs.”

His what? They have a f–king gun? It’s ominously quiet in the background. I don’t hear Renata or anyone else. Just Rob breathing, then speaking. His voice gets really fast again. I don’t know if he’s making s–t up. I can’t tell what’s really happening from what fantasies he’s spinning.

“Where are your kids, Rob?” I ask again. Again, he doesn’t seem to hear me.

Rob: “It’s quiet now. Let’s go upstairs.” I hear his footsteps on the stairs. I beg him to stay downstairs, to let Renata be. Don’t wake up the kids. Stop arguing. Don’t make the police come to the house. Again.

Rob (to Renata): “There’s a lot of cash downstairs.” I hear her muffled voice in the background. She sounds sleepy.

Rob (to Renata), yelling: “We’ve got you cornered like a rat!”

Renata: “Don’t wake up the kids!”

Rob: “She’s got my piece . . . She’s gone . . . Get the f–k downstairs.”

I wonder again: Should I get in my car? Should I get someone over there?

Renata, louder now, no longer behind a door: “Are you going to leave me alone?”

Rob: “I’m going to give you five dollars see . . .” [ . . . ] incoherent “. . . or I’m putting three bullets in your head. You’re pinched. I’ll pump you full . . .” [ . . . ] again incoherent [ . . . ]

F–k. F–k. I fumble with my iPhone again. Call now? “Do you have a gun, Rob?” I ask.

“She stole it,” he answers.

On Wednesday evening, Maclean’s posted on its website an excerpt from Mayor Rob Ford: Uncontrollable, a book written by Mark Towhey about his time as Rob’s chief of staff at city hall. The passage features a harrowing, damning account of Rob Ford in a screaming match with his wife, Renata, in which he berates and threatens her over drugs, money and, possibly, a gun in their house—all while their children were trying to sleep upstairs. Links to the item quickly spread on social media.

I agree; it sounds alright, but a fuller chorus would make this sound better. Kind of nice without the sound effects throughout the song.

@Mike
Also agreed. This did not need a cover or update. They still left the "they'll make Billy blue" line in there. What the hell does Billy Bean have to do with the 2015 playoffs? Are they hoping to make him regret his trade with the Jays last offseason?
The whole thing seems like an uninspired cash-grab to me.

Can anyone create decent Jays songs anymore? Or do we have to suffer through an "Along Came Joe" update that tells the story of Jose or something?
Here's hoping that someone can make inspired Jays-themed songs, either original or covers.

Well, not a good football weekend. My Ravens and Cardinals both lost. It's really really pathetic. My Ravens lost and that sucks. Cardinals are doing okay even with the loss, but my Ravens are awful this season. How about those Habs. They were losing, but won over the Wings. Habs are plain old awesome. The cup is on the way. Coyotes lost though. That's no good. Anyway, so Royals are up 2 to 0. I'm going to win the money. Royals in five or six. Mets won as well so at the end of this round it will be John and me left in the pool while Mike and Bill are out, but Bill is the leader. He will give whoever wins the money. I voted NDP but my opinion about Trudeau is that he probably has more real life experience under his belt now than Mr. Harper has ever had.

As far as I can see Mr. Harper went from a student to a mail room clerk to a politician.

Not sure why being a drama teacher and an athlete, and no doubt (fortunate for him) a world traveler, is having 'less' real world experience than Harper and the Fords.

Unless of course you think Fordian real-life experience is a laudable goal for politicians.

Teaching drama is an awesome thing to do. First of all you have to know about the history of literature and theatre. Next you have to be able to relate your body to creating various expressions which we've seen in acting all the way from silent film days to now. Also you need to have enough self-confidence to try out new ideas expressing the intentions of a playwright or author. There's a lot I'm missing I'm sure. Also you're helping students to have confidence in public speaking and expressing interesting ideas and 'roles.' Not sure where the disdain comes from. It's a specialized skill which benefits others.

Because they had no one to answer too.

Very good news coming from polls this weekend. EKOS released a poll yesterday giving the Liberals only a 0.4% lead. More importantly, the cons had a 2.4% lead among those who have already voted in advance polls (which in fairness is a group that tends to skew older, though the poll was weighted to control for that). So there is a sign of hope for those of us who don't want to see that cretin Trudeau in the Prime Minister's office.

Polls are often wrong but I feel taking a poll of those who already voted is more credible than a simple opinion poll. The Conservatives are far from dead, and this election is going to be extremely close. Whoever wins will win by a small margin, and Harper still has a real shot here. I'll be crossing my fingers.

October 18, 2015 @ 9:54 PM

Mr Robot

Funny, every other moving poll shows the Liberals in the lead. Polls are hardly ever wrong but they were considered wrong because of the Allison Redford win in Alberta. The Wildrose Party was "supposed" to win because they were in the lead in the polls But in the last week or so, things started to change. Opinion shifted to the Redford PC's because of the moron-itis that inflicted the Wild Rose Party. The result was the PC party got a majority. But, anyone with any sense saw the sudden shift

And that's what is happening with the Liberals. Like it or not the shift is leaning Liberal. And it's not rocket science slick. 70% of this country is "left wing". So when NDP supporters realize Mulcair has no chance they jump to the Liberal ship. Just because

You're like the rest of the Conservative supporters. You don't get it. 70% of Canada is left wing. That's what the people want. That's fucking democracy. And don't come ranting at me how I'm some left wing fucktard because I'm not. I'm a gun holding revolutionary motherfucker. Difference is, unlike most of you fags I don't let my "politics" get involved in my point of view. Because no of the parties (outside the Pirate Party) share my concerns.

Harper is on track to win a majority. Or maybe not:

But even as he tried to project calm, Harper’s voice betrayed notes of frustration as he delivered impassioned stump speeches, and the Conservative campaign was hit with an unexpected blow Sunday.

Benjamin Perrin, Harper’s former lawyer in the PMO, says in a statement that based on what he’s personally seen and experienced, he felt there was no other choice but to abandon his lifelong Conservative vote.

“Last week, I voted in an advance poll for change,” Perrin said in a statement sent to The Canadian Press.

“As a lifelong conservative I never thought that would happen. But after what I’ve personally seen and experienced, there was no other choice. The current government has lost its moral authority to govern.”

Perrin was Harper’s lawyer in the PMO at the time of Nigel Wright’s $90,000 payment to Mike Duffy to cover his inappropriate senate expenses — now the subject of criminal charges against Duffy. Perrin testified in August that Harper’s top aide Ray Novak was in the loop — contrary to Novak’s and Harper’s claim.

@Mike Thanks for reminding me that he has less experience than I thought he had. If he was an MP since 2008 means he may have only had 5-6 years of experience in working life outside of politics. I don't have issues with the Liberal Party as historically, the Liberal party has campaigned to the left but governed to the right. You cannot have an Economic move to the Left in this volatile economy. Mike, lets be honest, if Justin did not have his last name, he would be considered a Joke by you and the rest of the media. I am going to be interested to see Justin in his first meetings with Putin or possibly Trump. They used to make fun of Paul Martin on the International stage calling him "Mr. Dithers", what will they say about Justin?

October 19, 2015 @ 8:52 AM

@ Nick

The attacks on Trudeau have been about his inexperience but what has he done during the campaign that has shown this inexperience? He's campaigned well. If the campaign is any indication of his ability to hold respect in office then it is a good sign. We have seen many campaigns prior to him where the leader's faults have been highlighted. Look at Dion, Palin, Kerry and the long list of insane Republicans in the primaries. Campaigns usually show the leader's weakness. Trudeau has risen above it.

Would he make a great leader? That is still unknown. We should be questioning his policies more than his youth. That's where the discussion should have been during this campaign. That's a topic for discussion. Not his hair. Not his teaching past. It's not like Harper had a length career in business prior to his political career.

If Trudeau wins and ends up as a poor leader then it's on Harper. Why? The Conservatives would have had a chance for re-election if Harper had stepped down and allowed another person to run. Perhaps this person could have been slightly more moderate and had personality. The Conservatives would have been able to offer something different and the Stop Harper campaign would have been moot. But Harper wouldn't allow it and he didn't cultivate and prepare anyone else to take over the reigns. That's why they will lose.

It has devolved into a grade 6 popularity contest that frankly worries me for the future.

I admit I've gone after his "teaching" background and his inexperience as a politician and you make a key point - that it should be about his and his party's policies. But let's face it, even if JT wasn't their leader, conservatives would argue against the liberals economy polices. And unlike Paul Martin, the libs in 2015 plan to run a deficit and bring in a more progressive tax towards the upper middle class (or as they call 'the wealthy 1%). Then there are the social issues where the two parties differ.

Besides his hair, his background, his father, there's plenty for conservatives to criticize JT on.

but of course

Already there are reports of "pre-marked" ballots coming in from across Canada. Sometimes the marks look accidental (single messy lines), but there have been multiple reports from ridings all over the country of clearly marked ballots. In most cases, the Conservative candidate has been marked.

Elections Canada is downplaying these incidents, calling them a "printing issue", despite the fact these have been happening since the advanced polls and are continuing to be reported. This is a very real problem, as the elderly, people new to voting (first time, newly Canadian citizens, etc) might be susceptible to missing something like this, or saying nothing about it. Considering that we already have multiple allegations of CLEARLY marked Conservative ballots (and so far NO reports of any pre-marked Liberal or NDP ballots), and with their consistent track record of electoral fraud, we are likely looking at some sort of CPC play right now.

As /u/Swampfoot suggested, photograph your ballot if you observe this, it's not illegal. Don't be surprised if the staff act or even say it is, because they're trying to cover their asses. Do it, and post here and/or send to CBC News (who have been extensively covering this)!

I will update as I find new reports.

So far this has been popping up in: Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba.

UPDATE: Amidst the growing reports of pre-marked ballots, Elections Canada has incorrectly announced that it is illegal to photograph one's own ballot. This is questionable in court, as it is constitutionally protected under the right to freedom of expression. In the past, Elections Canada chose not to pursue fines for this matter. They also stated in a press release that reports of problems with the election shouldn't be directed to CBC, but to themselves, despite the consistent inaction on their part. Make sure to report to CBC in addition to EC, as EC has demonstrated they can not be trusted to be accountable (whether it's because of underfunding, or Harper infiltration).

UPDATE 2: For those not previously aware, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) dispatched a team of monitors to Canada just 3 days ago in light of growing concerns of electoral fraud. They're likely not affecting much, but their evaluation will likely be very important in the weeks following the election if allegations of fraud are solidified. Just to be clear: members of the international community are already concerned about the legitimacy of this election. This is

All the teams left in Baseball playoffs wear Blue, 1st time in MLB history whereby all teams have the same colour in final 4.

I predict the Blue team will win, hopefully the right one.

Have a friend that works for Conservative parry. He just texted that they are imagining a Liberal majority. Everyone in the inner circles have been looking for jobs for the last week. He also said that the party is on the verge of implosion.

If Conservatives lose, my son loses his job at Parliament Hill.

He has been working very hard 5AM-10PM for last 3 weeks seeking votes for Conservatives & he knew it would be a struggle to even get a minority.

A wife, a 10 month old child & now possibly out of a job.

It's never a good thing for anyone to lose their job. Despite my desire for the outcome that it looks like it will end uo being. Outside of the dildo in my riding and Harper, Im not happy for anyone to lose their job.

I guess that's the only tough thing about politics its never a sure thing forever.

Best wishes to your son Dale. My gladness for a change in government does not extend to any celebration of your son losing his job. Hopefully he'll find something soon.

Royals lost. That was not a good thing. Why did that have to happen. Come on. I need them to win so I get my money. I want my money. Also Karim Jivraj lost. why did that have to happen. He was so nice. People should have voted. I voted for him. Poor Karim. What will he do now. I hope he will run again, but I liked him. It's awful.

What's more shocking - yesterdays election results with a MAJORITY win as I thought minoruty for Liberals or todays virtual Joke by BJays 14-2.

The bird is in the oven as already preheated & ready to be cooked tomorrow.

Goody, the Royals won. That's a good thing. Now they are up three games to one. Wonderful. I hope they win again today. I especially hope it doesn't go to a game 7 as that would be on Saturday and I have something else planned so at the most make it six, but I would like to win it in five. Go Royals. If they continue to play like yesterday, they will win. I want my money. John is winning as well though as his Mets are up three games to none. Either I will win the pool or John will win it. Hopefully I win it. How about thos Habs last night. Another Carey Price shutout. He is amazing. Habs are amazing. They won't lose. They're winning the cup. My Coyotes lost though. They won three in a row and now they lost. It sucks. Oh well, my trainer played last night but since I don't see him today, I don't know how he did, but hopefully a win.

Royals lost. That game sucked. It really really did. Now it will have to go to a game 6, maybe a game 7, but I hope not. I mean the Royals were bad last night. They should have saved some runs from Tuesday for yesterday. Anyway, the game really sucked, that's for sure. Anyway, John's Mets won so John is probably thinking he will win the money. Well, I would rather have him win the money than Bill keep his money. That money is Bill's money and if he wins, he keeps it. Mike is out because the Cubs are done. Anyway, I want the money. Kean plays this weekend. There is a spiel in Quebec. There are lots of teams I never even heard of. Kean will win.

OTTAWA — Longtime MP and former cabinet minister Diane Finley says she intends to run for the interim leadership of the Conservative party. Finley says Conservative MPs will have to learn how to transition into opposition, where they will not have the resources of government at their disposal for such things as research and speech writing.

And trashing libraries, muzzling scientists, sending body bags to reserves, ignoring aboriginal womens' deaths, attacking items of cultural clothing, building pipelines through pristine wilderness, appointing senators who don't live where they claim, committing electoral fraud, spending billions on jets that don't work, etc...
