Joe Warmington on Thursday - The media are scum and should leave Ford alone to focus on his health. Excuse me while I interview the patient from across the hall.

Joe Warmington today - Ford should still run for Mayor no matter what the doctors say! Run, Robbie, Run! Unless Doug wants to run, then that's okay.

I want Ford to get healthy and I hope it isn't cancer. But if he has people like Joe supportining him then he is in a lot of trouble. They aren't looking out for his best interests. They are looking out for their own.

@Toronto Mike

I clicked over the other day for the Tyson video from /r/WTF.

I love what you're doing here. Keep this shit up!

Joe Worms is a sad excuse for a journalist. No other journalists respect him.

He's so far up RoFo's ass he can taste the tumour.

Joe Warmington needs to join a co-dependency group for his bizarre relationship
with Rob Ford.
Co-dependent relationships are toxic.
Matlow wished Ford the best and Warmington 'bitched' about that.
Like he's saying, 'Rob is mine. Leave him alone.'
Weirdness galore.

Ryan G

Well now that winter's here, I guess I'll go skating at NPS this weekend, check out The Bay's Xmas windows and get my yuletide shopping done. Maybe take the kids sledding and build a snowman, wrapping the day up by picking up the family tree.

Merry christmas everyone.

Save me Jebus!
I was in my local grocery store when I came upon the cereal aisle. Whilst perusing the options, I picked up a box of cereal whose brand was previously unknown to me. It had silver accents on the label which I took to be interesting and seemed to excite my senses. Being a mindless consumer while little free will I put it in the shopping card. As I continued my voyage, a horrifying thought suddenly entered my mind - Cheryl!
I had just bought "Edge with Protein", which we all know from the endlessly repeated drivel from this blog... her favourite cereal. Damn my subversive unconscious mind and this blog which provides the platform for her personally vouched consumer choices (and sports teams).

I learned Wednesday night from the leader of the free world that "ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq & Syria)is NOT Islamic."

So, does that mean they could be Quaker, Amish, Mennonite? Can someone help me here?

According to Eric Margolis (pretty sure it was him) the reason ISIS (or whatever their initials are) is militarily successful is that they are being led by Saddam Hussein's former generals.
What a mess 'we' have created by destroying that society.

@Mcnulty: Warmington had a mental break a long time ago. I'm under the impression that sooner or later his title will be changed to fictional short story writer for the Toronto Sun.

September 12, 2014 @ 10:10 AM

So predictable.

September 12, 2014 @ 10:10 AM

@ Argie - as was your comments about're like a broken record dude...

September 12, 2014 @ 10:57 AM

You treat groups like ISIS as the voice of Islam, I have friends and family who are Muslim and they hate these ISIS people more than you ever could.

If you get to paint all Muslims with the ISIS brush, why not paint Christians with the brush of their most despicable members.

What's the difference Argie?

September 12, 2014 @ 10:59 AM

Oh, I see, you're going to play the "its the same, its all wrong" card. That's like saying shoplifting a chocolate bar is the same as murder - "well golly, they're both against the law."

You might want to ask these muslim friends of yours, where are rallies of thousands of "peace loving" muslims denouncing the actions of ISIS, Al Qaeda and the many other Islamic terrorist organizations around the world.

September 12, 2014 @ 11:08 AM

@ Arige -

a bunch of "good ol' boys" beating a black man to death for looking at a white girl too long is no different than ISIS beheading a reporter as a political message.

Please tell me how it's like comparing murder to shoplifting.

Unless, of course, you are saying that the white reporters life has more value than the black mans....and you'd never say something like that, right Argie?

September 12, 2014 @ 11:13 AM

You're hilarious. Thank you for this waste of time.

September 12, 2014 @ 11:18 AM

James Edgar

@ Philly-Bob and Argie You both have points that are correct.

It's always bothered me that the Muslim community doesn't come together to denounce the crazys.

And anyone using any religion as an excuse to suppress or dominate people are no better than the leaders of ISIS.

There is the inescapable fact though that ISIS is big and getting bigger and they need to be stopped. How is the question of course .

And at the moment i have no idea

September 12, 2014 @ 11:27 AM

@ Argie - Our Anonymous friend has provided you with your rally.

I can only surmise from your lack of response that you do think a white life is worth more....shame on you.

September 12, 2014 @ 11:34 AM

You can surmise anything you want. You are a dirt bag to suggest that though.

September 12, 2014 @ 11:37 AM

Well, how about those Ravens. They won 26 to 6 over the Steelers. This means that the guy who has the Steelers in the pool lost and I am winning in my pool 2 games to 1. Anyway, my Ravens were really good last night. They're a great team. Well, my Cardinals will win over the Giants on Sunday and I will be up 3 to 1. I am going to win money, believe me. Baseball doubleheader this afternoon and tonight. Yankees at Orioles. Orioles will win hopefully. I say hopefully because I just heard that Chris Davis got suspended. It's awful. He was taking amphetamines and got suspended for 25 games. I guess they will have to put Steve Pierce at third base and Ryan Flaherty at first base or something like that. I just found this stuff out. Anyway, Kevin Gausman is pitching this afternoon and Bud Norris tonight on the mound. Yes, I had my Edge with protein today because it's the best.

September 12, 2014 @ 11:37 AM

This made me laugh.

It's Star Wars without the John Williams score.

September 12, 2014 @ 11:41 AM

Weather beautiful today! Join Shalom/Salaam Toronto at High Park (Area 24) for a gathering 11:30 - "meet up" in the name of peace! And to stand together for human rights and harmony, and against all forms of islamophobia, antisemitism and hate!

September 12, 2014 @ 11:43 AM

That only took me a few seconds to find. Isn't Google wonderful?

September 12, 2014 @ 11:46 AM

Yes you found an opinion piece backing up your opinions. You ignore communities of people working together for peace. Communities of people assisting each other in times of danger. Communities of people practicing religious tolerance.

September 12, 2014 @ 1:02 PM

God help us, the Oriels have a doubleheader today. I hope that if Cheryl elects to bombard us with mindless drivel that she sums up the two games in one post. I'd be most annoyed if I had to skip over two posts instead of one.

September 12, 2014 @ 1:28 PM

Well, how about those Orioles. They won 2 to 1. They can win without Chris Davis. Steve Pierce played first base and Kelly Johnson played third base. It had to go to extra innings though because nobody could score and the game was too long. Hopefully the second game won't have to go to extra innings. Well, I got more junk mail today. It wasn't from Bell or Rogers, but it was from some stupid company who wants to sell some weight loss junk to make me lose weight like these pills or something. Of course I'm not buying that junk. My trainer says there is no such thing as a weight loss pill. Anyway, stop sending me junk mail. It's a waste of paper and a waste of time. I don't need it. My Cardinals will beat the Giants on Sunday. I'm going to win my money, believe me. My Ravens will win the rest of their games as well. My Cardinals and Ravens are both going to have the best records in the NFL and they're going to the Superbowl. The Superbowl will be awesome. I can't wait to get my money. $100.00 is the most I can win and I'm going to win it. There was one guy who picked Cleveland in that pool. Everyone laughed at him. Well, he won't win anything because they suck.

September 12, 2014 @ 6:56 PM

We all just can't wait for all your sports parties that you're panning now, World Series, Super Bowl & your Birthday. You didn't mention your Stanley Cup party yet since PK is signed.

Make sure you have enough munchies. lots of coolers (when you get the Ice) with BYOB.

You are gonna be busy with all these social activities.

The reddit link from /r/wtf was top 10, and it's a pretty popular subreddit.

But most of those 90k come and go without visiting another page. They just want their Tyson video, and when they get it, they're gone.

September 12, 2014 @ 9:56 PM

Well, yes, my Orioles swept the doubleheader. They won last night 5 to 0. Isn't that great. I'm loving this. Now who is going to win the World Series. It will be the Orioles for sure. that's who it will be. They can win without Chris Davis. Next game is at 1:00 today with Miguel Gonzalez on the mound. Of course, I'm having a Stanley cup party. Either the Habs or coyotes are going to win the cup. You should know that by now, but first it's the World Series and then it's the Superbowl. I can just feel it now. Orioles win the World Series and then it's going to be an awesome Superbowl with the Cardinals and Ravens and an awesome Stanley cup with the habs and Coyotes. October 8 will be Habs 10, Leafs 0. Price will stop everything the Leafs throw at him.

I wish Canadians were more enthusiastic for their own history like the anniversary of the War of 1812 or the discovery of one of the ships of the Franklin Expedition.

This is pretty cool stuff.

September 13, 2014 @ 10:31 AM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

Regarding the discovery of one of the ships of the Franklin Expedition, I think there's a lack of enthusiasm because many Canadians see it as a Harper mission to lay claim to the arctic so he can exploit the area for natural resources.

It's just not a clean story. Its tough to get excited over it.

September 13, 2014 @ 10:32 AM

It's Harper job to assert sovereignty over the Arctic otherwise the Russians, Americans, and even the Danish will lay claim to it. The Inuit would also be better protected under the Canadian flag rather than a Russian one. Putin doesn't much care for human rights.

I also wish we can put aside out hatred of Stephen Harper for one minute. He won't be Prime Minster forever but this discovery will be part of Canadian History. Seeing it through partisan politics is petty and small minded.

September 13, 2014 @ 11:50 AM

Not Glen

Given that Glen has both Harper and Ezra Levant's jizz on his face no wonder he supports them. King Harper spent millions find this old sunken wreck while the economy sputters & business goes south. Some people just aren't that smart.

September 13, 2014 @ 2:09 PM

Well, that game sucked today. It really did. My Orioles lost. They lost 3 to 2. They couldn't bounce back and win and the Yankees won instead. That's no good. Anyway, tomorrow Chris Tillman is on the mound for my Orioles. Before that, my Cardinals will beat the New York Giants. Sure they will, then I will be up by three games in my pool. Anyway, I'm really not voting. This election makes me puke. I don't care what anyone says. I'm not voting. Nobody has to agree with me. You don't have to like my sports teams, but they are going to win. Just remember that.

September 13, 2014 @ 7:36 PM

Well, my Cardinals won. This is great. They are 2 and 0 now which is wonderful. I am at 3 and 1 in my pool and it will get better. Next week my Cardinals will beat the 49ers and my Ravens are really going to beat the Browns. Then I will be at 5 and 1. I am going to win my money. I'm going to win the whole $100.00 and then the superbowl will be so awesome. My Orioles don't play until 8:00 tonight. This sucks. I want a day game, but they decided to change the game time. Also there may be a Derek Jeter thing before the game which will suck. This game is in Baltimore and they have to do something for Derek Jeter. Wait until they get back to New York and then do it. Anyway, just wait and tomorrow my Orioles will beat the Jays and they'll do it Tuesday and Wednesday as well. You guys should like the Orioles if you want to like a really good team. They can beat anyone.

September 14, 2014 @ 6:18 PM

Well, they do it again. Orioles win 3 to 2 with a walkoff RBI by Kelly Johnson. He was the hero. Anyway, guess who we play next, the Jays. Orioles beat Jays in three and clinch. Wei-Yin Chen tonight, Kevin Gausman tomorrow night and Wednesday night Bud Norris on the mound. Yes, the Orioles are going to win the World Series like it or not.

I hear the Russians had residential schools.

Really, I thought they only had gulags (where over a 20 million perished).

September 15, 2014 @ 10:01 AM

20 million Inuit died in the gulags? I thought the post was about Inuit.

We can discuss 20 million dying in the gulags or 15 million Soviet soldiers dying in the fight to crush Hitler during the Siege of Stalingrad. Or we can discuss Pussy Riot or caviar. Or we can discuss Wassily Kandinsky's abstract art.

But I thought Glen's post was about the Inuit.

It was many years after my enlightening journey north as a teenager that I learned a horrible truth about the history of the Inuit I had visited in Resolute Bay. Just eleven years before my visit, our government had transplanted them to populate the High Arctic, in the name of Canada's sovereignty. The Inuit in Resolute Bay had been moved over two thousand kilometers north from their home in Inukjuak (Port Harrison), Quebec, on the shores of Hudson Bay. They were dropped off by ship and left to fend for themselves without any supplies or shelter from the government. They had never before experienced such cold and twenty-four hour winter darkness.
Separated from their families, this act can be compared to Stalin's practice of shipping dissidents to the Gulag. It was part of Canada's strategy to claim sovereignty in the High Arctic. When I asked John Amagoalik, one of the radical Inuit leaders, who tells his story in our film, if he was bitter about the experience he simply said "no, I'm disappointed, I wish they had told us the truth. Inuit would have probably gone up and worked with the government, better prepared with proper essentials, but they chose to lie to us".

September 15, 2014 @ 1:04 PM

Okay guys. Orioles over Jays tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday nights. Yes, they will clinch. It will be awesome.

September 15, 2014 @ 4:49 PM

Well, I told you so. Orioles win. Wei-Yin Chen wins. That's great. Homer by Ryan Flaherty. Stroman almost gets ejected. Well, I was wrong about the pitching for tonight. It's not going to be Gausman, it's going to be Ubaldo Jimenez. I do not trust him. There's still hope though, but we have to score 10 or 20 runs to win. Ubaldo is horrible, trust me so enjoy your win tonight because Orioles will clinch tomorrow night. Just wait. I would say we win tonight if Jimenez wasn't pitching, but he is so enjoy it. I'm hoping for 10 or 20 runs though so I can be wrong.
