Girls vs. Boys

Girls vs. BoysMy son and daughter both love their new baby brother, but that's where the similarities end.

My daughter is a natural born nurturer. She wants to hold her little brother while singing to him and rocking him gently. Heck, she even enjoys changing his diapers. It's a joy to watch.

Meanwhile, my son is never sure how to hold him and has no interest in singing to him or changing his diaper. Here he is with his baby brother slung over his shoulder as he watches the hockey game.

@ Mike- Not too surprising. I think you'll see a 180 from James as Jarvis gets older. Wait till your teaching Jarvis to throw, or play hockey, or ride a bike....that's when the big brother genes kick in :)

Most girl just tend to be more nurturing. I see it all the time over here, us boys just suck at holding babies. I stayed away from them until I was 16. That's when my aunt handed me her day old baby to hold and I looked at her as if she had just handed me a basket full of snakes!
