Perhaps it's tonal processing ("auto tune", today), but Alan's voice certainly sounds different in this clip vs. the way he sounds today, which, to me, is how I remember him sounding, and I have some clips (including Ongoing History of New Music episodes) to back up my impression.

When I listen to H&F on satellite, versus 1010, versus the podcast, the tonality sounds totally different. Is it due to compression? I like the sound of the Podcast best.
