Seriously? You're the biggest troll, ever.

@ Argie - What make the ladies game fake??

And what are you going to do when the NHL has an openly gay player like the NFL.....

February 21, 2014 @ 8:56 AM

Argie

@Mike
I know it seems that way but I sincerely cannot watch women's hockey. I know nobody cares - but I just had to state that. Its the skating, I tells you! Sorry.

February 21, 2014 @ 8:58 AM

Argie

@Phil
I've already answered the ladies' hockey question. As for the second question, there's no guarantee it ever will. The guy from Missouri hasn't paled in the NFL yet.

@Argie

It's one thing to say "I prefer the men's game", but it's another to insinuate the women's game isn't "real".

I watch 11/12 year olds play hockey every Saturday. That's real hockey, and often quite entertaining.

The women's gold yesterday was amazing. I watched it a 2nd time on CBC at 7pm with my kids, and a third time later in the evening on TSN. I've literally seen that 3rd period and overtime three times now. It's awesome and now Canadian legend.

So you don't have to like it, but it's real, and it's spectacular.

February 21, 2014 @ 9:01 AM

Argie

Sorry, that's "played" in the NFL yet.

February 21, 2014 @ 9:02 AM

Argie

"I watch 11/12 year olds play hockey every Saturday. That's real hockey, and often quite entertaining"

Of course it is - your son is playing. Which is why you can handle watching a sub-par game like women's hockey. I don't have any kids playing hockey.

February 21, 2014 @ 9:04 AM

Argie

"The women's gold yesterday was amazing. I watched it a 2nd time on CBC at 7pm with my kids, and a third time later in the evening on TSN. I've literally seen that 3rd period and overtime three times now. It's awesome and now Canadian legend."

Again, saying "I prefer the men's game" or "I don't watch the women's game" is being a contrarian.

But insinuating the women's game isn't "real hockey" is your attempt to start a fire.

@ Argie...there is no way you could have watched that game and came out with such an idiotic comment.

Oh brother. I see we're already in high "politically correct" alert. Really, we're all offended by Argie's barb? Wow. How about instead of obsessively focussing on the individual words, we just look for the overall intent of the message? Let's pretend that both Men's and Women's Gold medal games were being played at the same time and Canada was in both, but you can only watch one game. Who's going to tell me you'd pick the Women's game to watch?

I did watch a few minutes of OT but when Canada scored it definitely wasn't the same feeling as Gretzky to Lemieux to win the 87 Cda Cup or Sid scoring in OT to win the gold medal in Vancouver. I guess its just me.

Have you seen Mad Men Season 6 yet?

I bought the DVD box set during the Christmas holidays and just started watching it this week.

I'm only a few episodes in but it's still fantastic. Nothing comes close to it on TV. The only criticism I have is there are NO director or cast commentaries on the DVDs/Blurays for Season 6. That's one of the reasons why I buy them on DVD. Maybe in future editions they'll include them or post them on as podcasts on iTunes like the creators of Batlestar Galatica did.

February 21, 2014 @ 10:37 AM

Glen Glen Glen. Watch true detective, or for that matter pretty much any other show on HBO AMC or the super channel. There are plenty of shows out there that make Mad Men seem like drivel

Mad Men = Overrated.

If you want some really good TV you should see some of the stuff coming out of England. Luther with Idris Elba was fantastic. Sherlock Holmes with Benedict Cumberbatch also fantastic. Downton Abbey(not pronounced Downtown).

Oh and one final time Mad Men is the most overrated show out there.

True Detective is really blowing my mind. I don't know where it is headed but I can't wait. I think Matthew McConaughey will have an Emmy and an Oscar on his resume by the end of the year. Who knew he could pull of this character? His Rom Com persona is completely absent.

Sherlock Holmes with Benedict Cumberbatch also fantastic - Not.
There's too much of a typical post-90s British series' gay agenda. It's also too limited in separate episodes / hours produced. It is, however, snazzy as to dialogue and camera work.

Re: Canada vs. USA

That was a clinic on how to shut down hot offenses. Our D was stifling, giving them little room to work, and the checking was close and hard.

And when he had to come up big, Carey Price was there, cool and collected. I like this guy when he's not wearing a Habs uni!

In five games (and five wins), we've allowed 3 goals. That's incredible.

@ALL for Mikes Ride For Cancer:

Previously I said I will donate $1 for each goal Mens Team Canada score in the Olympics & extra bonus if they win the Gold medal. So far they have scored 14 goals overall with 1 more game to play & today for me THAT WAS THE GOLD MEDAL GAME beating the U.S.

So Mike, you get the bonus regardless.

Please donate to this worthy cause as it means so much to our Blogger Buddy & especially his dear friend Mike Kic.

February 21, 2014 @ 6:06 PM

Enjoying the CBC Live feeds of the Olympics. HD, uncut. You can watch without a 15 minute commercial break every 3 minutes. With Figure Skating, you actually get to see ALL the competitors. There's so much that gets chopped out in the broadcast. Good job, CBC, tax money well, well spent.

And for ME to compliment anyone's online broadcast of anything TV, that's huge.

The only thing that would have been nice if they bumped up the rink audio a bit. Can't hear any of the skates, and the music gets a bit drowned out and tinny. Oh well.

February 21, 2014 @ 7:20 PM

Well, Price did play today. No wonder we got a shutout. Price is that good. Nobody can beat him.

Well, hope my trainer's wife likes the Leafs bib I got Carter. It's just too bad he can't use it now, it's too big. Oh well, I probably won't buy another Leafs thing.

For the Brier, I'm cheering for two teams, Balsdon and Currie. I hope one of them will win it.

February 21, 2014 @ 10:12 PM

Well, Price is getting better and better. Canada will win gold because Price is that good and my Habs will be hot when they come back. Price won't let them lose. He's that good.

Who knows why the game is on at 7:00 in the morning. I have no idea.

February 22, 2014 @ 7:30 AM

Corey

Well, the game's on at 7:00 a.m because that's 4:00 p.m. in Sochi, then the closing ceremonies start an hour after the game finishes - 8:00 p.m. in Sochi. Maybe we should have asked them to be considerate to North America and start everything 3 hours later for us, so the closing ceremonies wouldn't start til 11:00 p.m. their time.

It's rather bizarre making so many plans for 7am on a Sunday. I'm getting the kids up at 6ish, preparing for guests and the big event.

February 22, 2014 @ 9:28 AM

@Lorne & Toronto Mike,

I can't find myself caring about e-bikes in bike lanes. It being illegal never stopped them anyway. They're annoying, but not more than your regular wobbly slowpoke. They're not permitted in separated lanes, like Sherbourne, nor on paths still.

February 22, 2014 @ 3:47 PM

CQ

@McNulty Fri 12:40
The agenda story tweaking was obvious. The same had been done with Agatha Christie's mysteries and Doctor Who's revival era. I count only three 90 minute episodes per season of Sherlock. That could have been 5 or 6 episodes per year of - by commercial TV standards, is an hourly episode.
CBS's Elementary series runs at 20+ self-contained hourly episodes a year. Sci-Fi series made in Canada, like Smallville, did likewise and with plenty of computer enhancements, stunt casting, and music. Show me (if living) David Burke and Edward Hardwicke in a Sherlock Holmes cameo.

The only two teams at the Brier I don't want to win is Balsdon and Currie.Why do they call it Tim Horton's Brier I don't drink coffee.And they better not play any games at 12 noon.

February 23, 2014 @ 2:54 AM

Cheryl

Why don't you want Balsdon or Currie to win? I am so excited about the Brier. It starts in less than a week now and I'm looking forward to it. My trainer's friends play for Balsdon and my trainer's brother plays on Currie. I want either one of those teams to win. too bad if you don't. My trainer's wife said that Carter can wear the bib now even though it is a little big. that's good. Maybe when Carter gets older, he will become a Habs fan. that would be good or he could become a coyotes fan. Maybe Carter will like the Habs better than the Leafs.

February 23, 2014 @ 6:01 AM

@Lyn Guine
Lick my Balsdon! He's going to win it all!

But you're right - they'd better not have any games on during midday. Curling is a Prime-time sport.

February 23, 2014 @ 2:36 PM

Cheryl

Well, at least someone else wants Balsdon. I like both Balsdon and Currie. One of them will win it all. Anyway, no point in having PK Subban there if you're not going to play him. Anyway, Carey Price will not lose again and he will take the Habs to the cup this year.

February 23, 2014 @ 8:05 PM

McNulty

@ CQ

When someone says something is obvious and doesn't actually use any sort of evidence it really ruins their argument.

Again, show examples of Sherlock and their gay agenda.

And it's a mini-series. It doesn't need the standard US TV series of 22 episodes a season. Typically most 22 epiosde series have a lot of filler episodes that can lack the same quality.

I dropped a clock into the washing machine by accident. It was a pocket clock and I left it in a pocket. I forgot to take it out of my pocket and it went into the washing machine. It went into the dryer as well. The clock got ruined. I had to throw it out. Oh well, it was a cheap clock and I have other clocks. It was no big loss, but it was a stupid thing to do. The washing machine ruined the clock.
