4 Years Ago Today and I Still Feel the Pain

medicalFour years ago today, I suffered my one and only (so far!) upper body injury when I separated my shoulder playing hockey.

Even now, if I sleep too long on my left side, I feel the pain. I've accepted long ago that this is perma-pain, and I just live with it. When I feel the dull ache setting in, I just switch sides and it subsides. I suppose there are worse pains to live with...

Following the injury, the pain was so intense I was popping percocets like candy. That made for a very interesting visit to Chuck E. Cheese for my son's 7th birthday.

I have shoulder, rotator cuff trouble and find that stretching with the aid of bands helps a lot to strengthen muscles that support the shoulder. Light weights helps as well, after stretching. Drug free options are the better way to go for pain relief if you can.

I Separated my shoulder 2 years ago... I drove myself home in rush hour traffic... Then walked to the hospital.. They put me under, put my shoulder back.. I woke up and walked home again...

Yes it hurt, but nothing compares to the pain of a kidney stone - when its making its way thru your kidney... THAT IS PAIN!
