Len Lives!

It's My NeighbourhoodSteal My Sunshine was catchy enough to make SLS2. Don't believe me? Revisit the preserved Smells Like Sour database and see for yourself.

Steal My Sunshine came out in 1999, and I haven't heard much from Len since. Toronto band Len is siblings Marc and Sharon Costanzo and they've got a new video for a new single "It's My Neighbourhood" that's chock full of Toronto scenery.

Len lives.

Did they cryogenically freeze themselves 13 years ago and just thaw out this summer, or something? Because they look the damn same.

My co-host and I were the first DJs in London to play Steal My Sunshine on air. I'm not sure what that means but there you go.

I will never forget, I believe it was Edgefest 1999, Len was to play their first live show (which was the first sign of disaster, how do you make a record before playing a single live show?) and because they didn't know what they were doing they were taking a long time to setup. The wait caused one person to throw a quarter on stage which prompted the lead singer dude to go on the mic and say "One more f**kin thing thrown and were outta here!" Bad move. The hail of bottles and other various trash launched at the stage was incredible. Needless to say the set was cancelled...
