Free Tickets to Wonderland's Halloween Haunt and CPR Guinness World Record Attempt

Free Tickets to Wonderland's Halloween Haunt and CPR Guinness World Record AttemptThis is pretty cool...

The Heart and Stroke Foundation has given me two tickets to give away to a lucky commenter on this entry. The tickets are for October 25 when the Heart and Stroke Foundation is challenging a Guinness World Record in CPR at Wonderland's Halloween Haunt. So you get to learn CPR, be part of a World Record attempt and have completely exclusive access to the Wonderland park for the entire evening.

If you're wondering what Canada's Wonderland will be like that evening, it will be the same park you know and love with zombies, psychotic clowns and other twistedness trying to scare the crap out of you. I'm in!

If you would like these two free tickets, simply leave a comment below. I'll randomly pick someone Friday, October 19 at midnight. If you'd like 60% the regular Halloween Haunt admission on this date, the Heart and Stroke Foundation invites you to purchase tickets now at www.cprundead.ca. There's only a limited number of tickets available at $14.99 then the price goes up.

Who wants to join me at Canada's Wonderland on October 25 for the Halloween Haunt and CPR Guinness World Record Attempt?

My Wife's been bugging me to take her to the haunt...I'm in for sure.

Free admission to Canada's Wonderland, getting in the Guinness Book of World Records and getting scared by the Halloween Haunt? I'm in - that's amazing.

@brad

That's better, but I can only count you as one entry. :)

Right now, if my math is correct, you have a 25% chance at winning.

Here's some more info for everyone:

Gates will open at 5:30pm and close at 6:45pm. There will be live entertainment.

Following the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Guinness World Records® attempt, guests will have access to the park, rides and Halloween Haunt until midnight.

Sorry - no costumes or masks allowed. Guests must be 13 years or older.

Buy your ticket today - limited time price of just $14.99 (that's 60% off the normal Halloween Haunt price).

That 13 years and older rule is really like PG13... it's up to the parent. My kids are younger, and they're psyched to be scared.

I'd like to enter... good luck to me!

Mr. K

I went two years ago with my girlfriend. She was so excited on our drive up, but 3 steps into the park and she was already saying "I'm too scared! I'm too scared!"...I convinced her to stay, and we had a blast. Would love to return.

I LOVE Halloween Haunt, I need to do my CPR cert soon and who doesn't want to break a world record in the process?! Pick me! Pick me! ;)

I went to HH a few times. It's fantastic.

Some of the mazes can be a little repetitive, but overall it's really well done. Scary music throughout the grounds..creepy lighting...and in some cases the lights are off on various rides.

And, there are a ton of freakish goth kids, employed by Wonderland, in full costume and hiding at random spots around the park, waiting to scare the shit out of you.

There was this one attractive girl about 23 who jumped out at my girlfriend and I, holding a "dead baby", and she was all bloodied up, and kept following us for about 15 minutes saying "my baby - what happend to my baby?"

Of course, as a man, as we walked towards some dark quiet corner of the park,I thought maybe I could segue this encounter into some terrifying good times if you know what I mean. "Perhaps we all make new baby?", I asked.

I failed.

October 16, 2012 @ 11:05 AM

I'd take my son to this.

So.....pick me.

(Out of running, can't go). The haunt is pretty good. I hope they bumped the lighting up a couple lumens so you can see the hard work that goes into the set building.

Oh, and if you like rides-- get there right when the gates open. The crowds don't appear until sundown. If you're there early, you can pretty much hop on any ride you want and ride it as many times as you want with no lineups.

Also: For dinner, big recommendation for La Taquizza across the street in the Vaughan Mills pad lots. Really good Mexican food.

October 16, 2012 @ 11:53 AM

BTW: Out of the running for October contests, because my wife and I run a free haunted house on Halloween. Busy building the sets. If anyone's in Newmarket on the 31st, stop on by:

Don't even bother putting my name on the list. All holidays are stupid. I hate Christmas music and don't like Halloween either. Canada's Wonderland is stupid. Marine Land is way better anyway.

Go Habs.

Love seeing everyone's comments about Halloween Haunt here. I don't want to win since I will already be there working at Halloween Haunt.... yes.. I am one of those "freakish goth kids" (really 41) that goes around scaring the crap out of you all... done it for 3 years and LOVE IT. If you don't win - this is the cheapest price you will ever pay for Haunt + you get to be part of a Guiness World Record - and probably be on TV. So buy your tickets before they are sold out. And Ryan G. that girl would be Casey A Haunt with the dead baby!! Thanks for having this contest Mike.. I'll share it where ever possible.

I'd love to attend! I've never been to Halloween haunt, but I'm thinking this might make me go regardless of whether I win or not. Break some records and hopefully deal with relatively small line-ups for the rides.

That's the key... only people with these special CPR tickets will have access to the park this evening. You don't have to worry about everyone coming late b/c the gates will be closed.

Exclusive access!

October 16, 2012 @ 10:38 PM

Katie

Is it CPR-C? If so, I can renew my certificate and scare my self senseless at the same time (yay! XD) and then be rest assured that my boyfriend will know the proper procedures in reviving me. ^^ Regardless, I'm interested, please include me in the draw.

October 17, 2012 @ 12:30 AM

Dar

WOW! Tickets for $14.99...the chance to be part of a Guiness World Record undertaking and the opportunity to learn HANDS ONLY CPR. Personally I may think twice about performing mouth to mouth CPR on a stranger in this day and age. HANDS ONLY CPR sounds alot safer to me...something I would not hesitate to perform. Sounds easy enough.. CALL 911..PUSH HARD AND FAST TWICE EVERY SECOND...
I have already purchased two tickets to this event. We northerners will be making the seven hour trek to participate. So excited have always wanted to go to the Halloween Haunt at Canadas Wonderland. If we win these two tickets we will be bringing our two children ages 18 and 16. If not guess it was meant to be a trip for two. Either way its going to be awesome!

October 17, 2012 @ 12:50 AM

Dar

Hey Katie..just so you know..this is hands only CPR..you won't be able to renew your certificate but you will participate in a World record event for the most people learning hands only CPR at the same time. I am traveling from Northern Ontario and am so psyched to check out Canadas Wonderland and participate in this.

October 17, 2012 @ 12:59 AM

Would be great to win these tixs!

October 17, 2012 @ 10:03 AM

@ Dar
Haha, oh well- thank you for informing me. ^^ And I agree, hands-only CPR does sound a lot safer and simpler. It was a brilliant idea for The Heart & Stoke Foundation to team up with Wonderland for the event.

Hi,

I'm new to Canada and I have never been to Wonderland :(

I would sooooooooo LOVE to go for Halloween haunt, those tickets would be well used and the CPR training would also be appreciated :)

Yours ever hopefully!

October 18, 2012 @ 12:01 PM

Lorne

@Kat: I don't think you want to take your young kids. From the Haunt's website "This event is too intense for anyone under the age of 13."

It is. It's a series of dark, loud walkthroughs with realistic monsters (not cartoony or inflatable).

October 19, 2012 @ 10:43 AM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

Regarding the 13 year limit... it's PG13, so parent's call.

I'm bringing my 10 and 8 year old who have been fully prepped. They know about the mother with the baby and I've shown them some videos and pictures, but they're smart, savvy kids who know these are actors and won't hurt them.

So they're excited... and if it's too much for them, we'll leave... but I'm pretty sure they'll be fine.

October 19, 2012 @ 10:55 AM

Lorne

@Mike: I meant the tone to be more informative than warning, my bad. For sure, if the kids can handle it, all the more fun. Just some experience from running a haunted house that some parents bring kids before they're ready-- or don't realize that the attraction will be as scary as they thought. It's not so bad when it's a home haunt, but would kinda suck if it was a whole paid for evening out.

If they can make it through the youtube trailer with the lights out, they're good. =)

October 19, 2012 @ 2:46 PM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

@Lorne

Good info... but that 13+ info worried me at first. My fear was they wouldn't allow younger kids inside, so I inquired further...

October 19, 2012 @ 2:49 PM

Dar

Besides even if you had to leave after the CPR event...the kids will have learned CPR and been involved in a Guinness World Record event

Attention All...

I said I had a pair of tickets to give away, but I might have more... I'm just waiting to hear back as to how many I have and then I'll announce the winner or winners.

October 20, 2012 @ 9:22 AM

Lorne

@Mike: When you do announce, can you announce in a new post? This one's fallen off the main page into THE DEEP DARK PIT OF LOST SOULS. (Or, as you mortal humans call it, "the archive")

Hey my name is Gunjan and I would love to go to go to Halloween Haunt. My parents are Indians and they won't buy me tickets because they thinks Halloween Haunt is bad. All my friends are going and they want me to go to. They said if I don't go then they won't either and we are talking about 10 people here. This happens every year, and one of my friends is leaving in 2 weeks she moving to Australia.
