I had the video for this cover on VHS and played it over and over and over again.

The original, by the way, was from our very own The Four Lads way back in '53.

Home Run!!!!

The lyrical brilliance of this band cannot be overstated. For those who have never given them a listen, that's what you have to do - LISTEN to the words.

They have been around since the mid-80s and have quite an impressive list of albums in their catalogue.

They have two versions of a song called (She Was A) Hotel Detective, and other than the title, completely different songs.

Oh, Mike - I just found one of Paul Heaton's (Beautiful South) solo efforts called Cross Eyed Rambler. I've warmed to at least four of the songs already.

Every time I hear this song I think of Tiny Toon Adventures back from the early 90's. THey did an episode of nothign but music videos featuring the Toons. THey did this song, as well as Particle Man. Look it up on you tube....hilarious

You took the words right out of my mouth. Tiny Toons is where I first heard of TMBG. Particle Man is a personal favourite.

Ditto on the Tiny Toons, which inspired me to start collecting their albums. I have them all up through Mink Car. Also one of the two bands I've seen in concert.

This brings back so many fond memories of my old Sony Walkman and the nearly worn-out They Might Be Giants tape.
