Look Right, Look Left

shamrockFor 38 years, all I've known is cars drive on the right side of the road. When crossing the street, I naturally look that way - it's ingrained in my muscle memory.

In Ireland, they drive on the left side of the road, and I can't seem to remember that. I just can't override 38 years of indoctrination, and I'm guessing I'm not alone. Dublin has clear reminders painted on the road of every pedestrian crossing.

They've essentially dummy proofed it, and this dummy is grateful.

Yup, and they do that in England too. The writing is even big enough for me to see!!!

We rented cars in Australia and New Zealand, they all had stickers on the drivers side windshield says "Keep Left".

Although I have been to several countries that drove on the "wrong side" this was a nice addition.

After 9 weeks down under I was concerned about getting back to Canada, but it was like riding a bike, picked up like it never happened, although my wife went to get in the wrong side more than once after getting back!
