The Problem With Religion

religionI saw this on Reddit today. The title was "When people ask why I have a problem with religion, it's hard to come up with a single answer..." and I thought it packed a pretty good punch.

Do You Hate Money Too? Plenty of Bad Is Done Because Of Money Too..

So Much Bad Is Done In The Name Of Religion.. Agreed... But Plenty of Good Is Also Done.

Their Is Good And Bad To Most Everything. You Can't Look At The Bad And Paint Every Aspect Of It With The Same Color.

But that's not the worst of it.
Have you ever sat through a catholic wedding?

Great post Mike! I agree with the Mr Fascination that for most people religion has been a positive thing. That said, its also been responsible or used as a shield by a smaller number, for some of the greatest atrocities committed.
Not sure if youve seen Nick Ginsburg's video - its been around for a while but worth a look if you havent seen it.

cheers

Religion is the root of all evil with all different alliances.

No comment with Catholicism.
Worst of all with the hypocrites.

It's time for all religious beliefs to start living in 2012.

I couldn't find any Canadian stories in the collage.

That speaks volumes about the nation.

Yeah Mike, Tebow and Beiber are really scary dudes.

Just like guns, religion doesn't kill people - people kill people (especially those who have a bomb strapped to themselves, yelling "allah akbar!").

@Argie

Or Christian fundamentalists who shoot hundreds of teenagers in cold blood on an island for a political retreat.

Fundamentalism from any religion spells all kinds of bad.

Cambo,

That one nutcase wasn't even Christian you moron. Get your facts straight before making a ridiculous comment.

@Argie

Dude. Are you on crack?

Can you not make an argument or statement without name calling??

And yes, he was Christian. You moron.

Specifically this:

The manifesto states its author is "100 percent Christian",[4] but he is not "excessively religious"[4] and considers himself a "cultural Christian" and a "modern-day crusader".

You scare me, man. You sound like a fundamentalist.

In the meantime, Jesus will help Tim Tebow winning the Super Bowl... Oh yeah, that's right, HE DID NOT...
