Bernie Custis’ Syracuse University room mate was teammate Al Davis. Custis, BTW, broke the pro-football quarterback colour-barrier with Hamilton far away ago on August 29th of 1951.
(which I linked to from an August 15th entry. The one right after the Blue Jays uniform image entry.)

Going to get flack maybe...But here goes..Al Davis was a crusty Old Bastard just like Bill Wirtz & Harold Ballard..
Oakland will be a better franchise going forward just like the Blackhawks & Leafs were...ooops like only the Hawks are!!
Best thing the estate can do is hire John Madden to run the show...and hire Jon Gruden back as GM and coach...AND no I am no kidding think about It??

I understand he will be buried in Oakland.

In a couple of years he will be dug-up and his remains moved to LA.

Several years later he will again be dug-up and re-interred in Oakland.
