All I Am Saying, Is Give Google+ a Chance

google plusGood news everyone! Google+ is now in beta, and anyone can sign up.

For the past 12 weeks we've been in field trial, and during that time we've listened and learned a great deal. We're nowhere near done, but with the improvements we've made so far we're ready to move from field trial to beta, and introduce our 100th feature: open signups. This way anyone can visit, join the project and connect with the people they care about.

I happen to love Google+, but none of you are there. There's a very few folks carrying the weight in my circles, but the interface is so great and the premise so fantastic, I check in daily to see if you'll show up.

Since I first popped into Google+, there's been dozens and dozens of enhancements. Google's not giving me a dime to promote this service, but I like it so much I'm going to annoy you with one final plea.

Give Google+ a chance. Now's a good time.

Update: You can add me on Google+. Click here.

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

Haha, I get it.

Who out there has tried it?

I'll be using it once there's an official way to get my twitter stuff in there.

I've had an account for a month or two. I agree with everything you say Mike, but I'm skeptical that enough people are going to abandon Facebook to make it worthwhile. It's definitely better than FB, but I think the average user is going to find the prospect of starting over on a new social network to be laborious - most have finally gotten comfortable using the features of FB. I think it's unlikely they leave it, or maintain two accounts.

Ha. Now you know how I feel everyday whenever I check with my own blogger site for possible visitors and comments.

I'm kinda sick of Facebook. Why would I want another piece of social media in my life?
