What did Japan do, to piss God off? or maybe there is no God!

March 11, 2011 @ 10:12 AM

Jack's hit the nail on the head.

There is no God.

Why would an omnipotent God do this?

To punish the Japanese for their shinbutsu shūgō silliness?

Do not fuck with me.

Ontario Credits' Tax Form Misprint:
for form ON479 - Energy and Property Tax Credit , the first page calculates down to a line 18 subtotal.
The (reverse side) second page repeats line 18 amount at its top line 19.
Then an income calculation section for line 20.

Final* Line 21 reads: Line 18 minus line 19 (if negative enter 0)
Line 21 SHOULD READ: Line 19 minus line 20.

*There's a brief Children's Activity Tax Credit section following the above portion.

Also, with the Ontario provincial credits replacement, the new required form, ON-BEN for the Adjusted Family Net Income and (checkboxes to apply for any property credits) is a White page rather than Pink. Federal pages are Green.

(No, I don't bother to use tax software. For my needs, a few minutes with pen and paper, generally same as before filing, and done.)

Ok, I need to rant here... how convenient!

I run AdSense on this blog. It's not making me rich, but it scores me a little cash every month. I can't retire, but at least it'll cover a coffee and muffin every morning.

Today, I got this email from Google.

During a recent review of your account we found that you are currently
displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our program

Please note that this URL is an example and that the same violations may
exist on other pages of this website or other sites in your network.

VIOLENCE: As stated in our program policies, AdSense publishers are not
permitted to place Google ads on pages with violent content. This includes
sites with content related to breaking bones, getting hit by trains or
cars, or people receiving serious injuries. More information about this
policy can be found in our help center

ACTION TAKEN: We have disabled ad serving to your site.

Do any of you regular readers find this site particularly violent? The entry they link to was a write up about the song "Hey Man, Nice Shot" from Filter about a politician's public suicide. I simply wrote about how it was being used inappropriately by TSN. I wasn't condoning suicide or displaying graphic imagery, just mentioning a historical fact.

C'mon Google, give me a break. If this site is deemed too violent for you, how can a hockey or football blog display AdSense? How can a video game or movie site display AdSense?

Unfair and uncool.

Can you appeal? Can you lose your Gemini for this infraction?

March 11, 2011 @ 3:23 PM

My Gemini is safe, thank goodness.

I've appealed. I'll see if the big Goog makes things right, otherwise I'll be looking to other ad services.

Does anyone want ad space? Great SEO benefits!

What has happened in Japan is devastating no doubt.Within the next few days the Canadian Government will provide 2-4 Million dollars of aid and help to Japan and also ask the Canadian people to help as well.Fine.But maybe within the next week the Canadian Government could provide 2-4 million dollars to the food banks of CANADA.Why can WE NOT help ourselves first?

March 11, 2011 @ 3:34 PM

Guess Google isn't so cool after all, eh Mike. Are you gonna start using Firefox again?

As for your coffee and muffin, save the 4 bucks and make it at home. It's better for your health.

March 11, 2011 @ 3:42 PM

Terrible earthquake but at least my habs won............shout out to Cheryl. I am surprised you have not chirped in about the stupid habs during a very serious conversation. As for praying for the people of Japan all I can say is this. It couldn't hurt!!!

Buffalo Boy Mike

Sabres will have to put the Leafs in their place Saturday, out of the playoffs for yet another year...sorry Leaf fans they ain't ready...maybe next year.

March 11, 2011 @ 4:14 PM

I Agree. Gary Betman is a jerk. Chara should have been suspended. That was no good hitting a player on my Habs like that. Also my Habs and my Suns both lost last night. That was no good. Habs will win tomorrow. I'm cheering for the Sabres over the Leafs tomorrow because I hate the leafs. Anyway, afternoon game for my Habs tomorrow so go Habs.

March 11, 2011 @ 4:40 PM

Buffalo Boy Mike

Cheryl, Be careful what you wish for, Sabres will catch the Habs

March 11, 2011 @ 6:21 PM

Buffalo Boy Mike

btw, I hate Chara too but the hit was legal, its hockey, and a guy got hurt, unfortunately it was your guy, but Chara kept his elbows down, it was legal

@ Cheeerryll:

I realize you are blind, but that does not mean you have to be stupid. Check out Helen Keller par example. (Why am I wasting my time with this?)

Jury Selection sucks. I've been summoned 4 times in last 15 years. The last 2 times (including today)I got deferred to another time due to work commitments. I was supposed to go next Tues. & got a call late this afternoon saying I will be excused this time but MUST attend in August.

I've already attended 2 juror summons times & was selected 1st time to a trial in Toronto when I lived there.

Doesn't anybody else but me live in Peel Region???

TOO bad my lottery numbers aren't the same as I would have won many times & would be living on EASY street now.

God Bless people in Japan & Cheryl there is more in life than the Habs as per what happened today.

March 11, 2011 @ 6:36 PM

@BBM It was a late hit. Try and find the puck in the play - you can't.

March 11, 2011 @ 7:38 PM

Nice Gemini Mike

Mean while in Montreal TorontoMikes favorite Montreal english sports radio station has a few problems

March 11, 2011 @ 11:19 PM

The Sabres won't catch the Habs. My Habs are going to win the cup. Yes, Chara is a thug. A player from my Habs really got injured. It's serious. He may not be able to play again. That's no good.

March 12, 2011 @ 7:19 AM

I hate the Montreal Canadiens but I beleive that Chara should have been suspended. Horrible decision by the NHL. The league really is a joke.

March 12, 2011 @ 11:46 AM

You're right. chara should have been suspended. The league is a joke for sure.

I have never curled or probably never will but I do enjoy watching curling on Tv with the sound on mute.Got so sick of players and commentators analyzing every second and complaining about everything ,from the ice the light the rings, rocks.Funny I find when these same players play at a place like Rama (where they are all guaranteed money) they DON'T complain at all, wonder why?

March 12, 2011 @ 3:37 PM

Mike...Don't blog about the Leafs!

March 13, 2011 @ 7:09 AM

The Sabres won't beat the Leafs. My Leafs are going to win the cup. Yes, Chara is a OK. A player from the Habs really got injured. It's serious. He may not be able to play again. That's good.

March 13, 2011 @ 11:22 AM

Yes, the Leafs won unfortunately. That's too bad. I don't want them in the playoffs. Chara really is a thug. I hate Chara now and always will. As for curling, I don't watch it, but my personal trainer curls and it's always good to hear if he won a game.

People are so hopeless when it comes to natural disasters. Even with all technology we are nothing and we have to subdue to the power of our Lord. Remember he , the Lord The One owes everything in this earth.

March 14, 2011 @ 1:44 AM

@Atlanta - if the Lord owes everything in this earth & controls it why did HE have this happen in Japan??
