Not a bad list this year. It actually feels a lot more closer in composition to the Mercury Prize.

I just wish someone could explain to me the fascination with Broken Social Scene. I remember seeing every incarnation of By Divine Right as they changed styles to whatever would get them more love, and they all put my feet to sleep. Same for BSS - I don't think I've seen a band as openly in love and impressed with itself, and the whole enterprise just seems so soulless and calculating.

Don't compare this to the Mercury Prize, LMAO, that's too funny.

That BSS album doesn't deserve to be on there, it's "meh" at best.

Some of this is so pathetic I don't know where to start.

I like T&S a lot, but weren't they on the list previously? That speaks volumes...

Broken Social Scene is everything that's wrong with the whole "indie scene"

A collection of incestuous fan boys that can't objectively look at the material a band releases. They just swallow the pablum fed to them.

As for Caribou, my answer to that is whatever. He's been around since I was a DJ in dance clubs. There is nothing original about it.

And Tegan and Sara? Their best record was So Jealous and that's almost 6 years old. Funny...T&S got more airplay on the radio in the USA than in Canada with that record. The True North Strong and Free.

The best Cancon artist at the moment is K'naan. He's no where to be seen. But then the hipsters can't dig a dude that got some CHR airplay, can they.
