The Lonely Island with Julian Casablancas - Boombox

humourI record SNL because I'm too old to watch it live. On Saturday, I caught up on the Zach Galifianakis show (he's a funny mofo) and last night I got to see one of my favourite bands of all-time (Pearl Jam!).

SNL is pretty hit and miss these days, but the Digital Shorts from The Lonely Island are consistently good. The Pearl Jam ep featured a Lonely Island tune called "Boombox" featuring the vocal styling of The Strokes' Julian Casablancas, and well... I really liked it.

Here it is until NBC pulls it.

I don't watch SNL anymore, but this was funny..

Speaking of Julian Casablancas, you should check out his solo album if you haven't already. One of my favourite albums from last year..

Yes, it's excellent.

Casablancas has also added to my Christmas mix with a modern day classic that originated on SNL: http://www.torontomike.com/2009/12/i_wish_it_was_christmas_today.html

Mad Max

I believe the rights to the vid (as does the music) belongs entirely to the Lonely Island. They have their own channel and promote their work on youtube so NBC shouldn't be able to pull it. You can continue to enjoy it there along with other classics "Jizz in my Pants" and "I'm on a Boat". Of course, I could be wrong.
