Leafs Trade Joey MacDonald to Anaheim

maple leafsThe Toronto Maple Leafs have traded goaltender Joey MacDonald to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a 7th round draft pick in 2011.

It was a weird day for the Ducks and Leafs and their goaltenders. Joey Mac came to town last summer to replace Justin Pogge who was traded to Anaheim. Then, earlier this year, Vesa Toskala was traded to the Ducks. And today, the Ducks traded both Pogge and Toskala and got Joey Mac from the Leafs. That means there will be four goaltenders who have played for both the Ducks and Leafs over the past twelve months: Jean-Sébastien Giguère, Vesa Toskala, Justin Pogge and Joey MacDonald.

Now where was Burke before he came to Toronto again?

Looks like the Leafs are trading away salaries. My guess would be they hope to snag someone big off season.

While we're on that topic, how's Phaneuf doing slick? Is he earning that 6.5 million dollar salary?

Thanks for Stajan. He's been specatular in the few games he's play...and works GREAT with Iginla. So good, the Flames just gave him a wad of money.

Calgary is still out of the playoffs and I doubt they'll make up ground. Sutter is doing a horrible job in Calgary. I bet the Leafs will make it out of the first round before Calgary ever does again.

Toskala + Pogge = Wasted talent and potential

Isn't it sad to think that a little more than a year these two were the Leafs goaltenders of the future...

LOL, yeah, Calgary is a whole ONE point out of a playoff position. How's Toronto doing? You know, the leagues richest team serving a market 8 times the size of Calgary LOL..

While we're on the topic of money, power, etc, when is your Eastern ass going to refund the auto bail out money (paid for by oil money)? I'm getting a little impatient waiting for the payback.

The only good thing that comes from the East is the sun and an empty Greyhound Bus.

your shtick was already boring by the summer '83, Mark. that's when me and a buddy walked into a house party in Sherwood Park and the first thing anyone said to us was 'are you the new wave fags from Ontario?'. get a new writer or try a different tact. if you don't live in Edmonton, you should. it's a match made in heaven. and arguing Flames v Leaves at this point is akin to which Lachey brother was a stronger influence on the songwriting of 98 Degrees.
