Maple Leafs 3, Bruins 4

LeafsRemember when the Bruins sucked? It wasn't that long ago, and now they're leading the conference by a pretty good margin. That's where I want to be in a couple of years.

I see we traded Robbie Earl to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Ryan Hamilton. Although Earl only played a handful of games with the Leafs, I saw him up close with the Marlies and always thought he was capable of playing in the NHL. He's a tough energy player who will hopefully get a shot with the Wild.

Good luck Robbie Earl, NASCAR legend.

This is the first time all season where I caught myself cheering for the other team - I desperatly wanted Boston to at least tie it up.

Does that make me a bad fan?

Nope I was doing the same. My cheer for this year and next is "GO whomever is playing the Leafs!"

It's okay - it doesn't make you less of a fan.

I wrestled with this as well. It seems unnatural, but this season is the exception.

Just lose, baby.

What you guys are missing is that you're assuming the leafs mngt can use the draft to build a winner. That's a huge assumption considering Burkie (the name the media likes to call him) has no record EVER of building a winner. He took over Anaheim AFTER it was re-built.

Look at Detroit. They have only 1 first rd draft pick on that team (Dan Cleary who has actually drafted by CHI). They built that team through trades, late draft picks and free agent signings.

You all are assuming in 3 or 4 years Burkie will have assembled a team with awesome draft picks while finishing at the bottom of the league during that time.

Unfortunately, I don't expect Burkie to live that long. He is a heart attack or stroke waiting to happen.

Having said that, Go Leafs Go!!!

Well, I wasn't rooting for Boston to tie it up/win, but I was sure expecting it...
